These are amazing for your first attempt. Way better than me when i first started off. I found using GIMP was way harder. So I stuck with PS and it worked out well for me. try looking up tutorials. A few of our members here can help you with that 🙂

You find GIMP harder? I've always thought it was much easier than PS...that's good to hear..! And thanks for the lovely words but I'm sure you were extremely good when you started 🙂. Anyway, I've tried different tutorials from this forum..I always look up at the one called icon coloring cause it's so useful!!

Some simple icons..I just worked on coloring basically.
And a wallpaper I made following EntertainUs tutorial but I'm really dumb and it really sucks sine I had no idea how to put textures making the image pop from it so..ahah..it's a little different from yours..Your tutorial was SO good, it was simple and really well explained..it's just me who's quite stupid LOL

Thank you for the compliment - but don't be silly, you're not stupid. Believe me, people learn at all different levels and sometimes it's very difficult to explain something...you either assume the person knows a lot more than they do or you end up explaining a thousand things they already know. Let me know if you ever have any more questions, I'd be very glad to help you if I can.

I meant that your pictures are brighter therefore they pop from the texture more than mine do..maybe it has to do with the fact that my images have a darker tone to begin with...🙂 Oh, I get how explaining things can be really difficult as well as finding a balance on what to explain and what to leave behind but you did a great job..at least for me...I have to tell the truth, my wallpaper suck compared to yours but in the end, thinking about, I'm glad how it turned out...I'm sorry you can't see the pic..I posted a link because I thought it would be too large to post and I don't really know the politics on large images this forum has..
They request that if you have large, wallpaper sized images that you post a thumbnail or a link (because it's "more friendly" to dial up users) so you did great with that. I don't think the link is the issue, I'm 99% sure it's my internet that's freaking out. I'll definitely come back and check it out later.

And a Woz banner...I also made a wallpaper with the same pictures and textures just to play but I'm still not that good at textures...and I can't make my test pop up. Anyway, I noticed I did a smooth effect on my FF banner (the second one) I really love and I have no idea how I made that...Ahahaha.

I did some things today, kind of in a hurry...I need to practice for the next round of the icons contest...my last weren't so good so I'm trying to learn but I also made two banners.

Your art is really great as far as concept, but you need to work on making sure the images don't look too stretched when you resize them. Otherwise your work would be amazing!

Thank you so much for your kind words and the advice ..they're always helpful and very welcome! What should I do to make them less stretched? If a banner is 500x150 I usually put the pic to 200x150 but I'm not sure how I should do it right..I guess it depends on the picture...And I still have to work on the blending..sometimes I can't get it right for some reason.
