Dark Horse Angel comics?

Does anybody know anything about the old Dark Horse Angel comics? Are they any good? I'm thinking about purchasing them on Digital with my 50% off coupon (see my thread: https://www.buffy-boards.com/showthread.php?p=1008911).

I don't recall them being brilliant, but I don' recall them being horrible either, so I'd say go for it.

How do they compare to the IDW comics in quality?

Depends which IDW comics you mean, their quality vary so much. Don't expect After the fall brilliance, but from what I recall, they're better than the post-issue 27 stuff in the main series.

I actually bought both volumes of the Darkhorse's Angel comics, but I haven't read them though (i'm very busy). I did read a couple pages and skim through others, and from what I could tell the writing was faithful to the show and the art was solid. An important thing to know is that (from what I can tell) the comics are all set between seasons 1-5 of the show, so some stories can get expanded

If you have the money and enjoyed the show, buy it, Angel has a great mythology and characters and the comics seem to be an expansion of them
