On wikipedia it said for The Gift that Dark Willow was originally planned to bleed Dawn. How would that have worked out?

I think they would have needed a way to get her to go that far that soon, which might have meant they would have killed Tara sooner, or Glory would have done something to her making her evil, like a spell or something. Perhaps when Glory sucked Taras brain she also would have killed her onc she noticed she wasnt the key, and That would have made Willow go all the way with the dark magic not just one book and some potions, and maybe glory convinced her to join her side or something like that,
i dont know, but im eager to read some of the other ideas

You mean this one right? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Gift_(Buffy_episode)

You'll notice they require a citation on that entry. It means there's no supporting reference for the claim. I'd wait to hear that one from a reliable source before I took it too seriously.

There have been lots of rumors about how Season 5 was supposed to have ended. According to the most popular one, Glory's brain-sucking Tara was supposed to send Willow off the deep end, after which Dark Willow would take on Glory and Buffy, and their battle would end up sucking Sunnydale into the Hellmouth. Now, how much of that was ever actually planned, how much was just kicked around as a possibility, and how much was just wild-ass guesswork on the part of fans is anybody's guess.

wasn't Dawn and Anya originally supposed to die in 'The Gift'? i read somewhere, i think it was in one of the Watcher Guide's, that one of the scripts for S5's finale got leaked, so they had to do a major rewrite, which resulted in Buffy dying in Dawn's place. maybe thye originally had Willow going evil, but who knows?

personally, i think S5 was way too soon for Willow ton turn to the dark side. she needed that spell to resurrect Buffy, that was where she started going off the deep end, thinking, 'I brought someone back from the dead. Go me!' if she didn't have to resort to that sort of magic, she never would have realized how much she was capable of.

I would imigaine though that the whole battle devouring Sunnydale wouldnt have worked out as good as what we got and was probably not the format because Joss said had the WB not want to budget cut the show he wouldnt have been so harsh about the ending. The one you said was even harsher than Buffys death. There would have been alot to clean up in season 6.

Edit:

What are the Watchers Guides? and where can i get them?

the Watcher's Guides are references for the show. they break down every episode, explaining the plot of the ep, what certain things mean, and, in some cases, show how things refer to previous or future eps. the last Guide completely breaks down the script for the S4 finale 'Restless' and tries to tie everything into the later eps.

there are three Guides in total, one for Seasons 1 and 2, one for seasons 3 and 4 and one for seasons 5, 6, and 7.

i'm not sure if they're still available to buy in the store, my advise would be to try Amazon or E-Bay.

According to that rumor, there wouldn't have been a Season 6 if "The Gift" had gone down that way - supposedly, it was planned as the series finale. Unless Joss sits down and does a tell-all book, though, we'll probably never know for sure.
