Question Dark Willow vs Anya

In the Dark Willow episodes, Xander and Buffy discover that Anya has once again become a vengeance demon. Before Willow starts beating up Buffy at the Magic Box, she knocks out Anya, grabbing her by the throat and throwing her at a bookcase. Anya was stabbed through the chest and walked away from it, and she's equally as strong as Buffy, who was at the time equally as strong as Willow. Why did that knock her out, and why didn't she at least try to fight off Willow? I was watching this episode for the millionth time, and it barely occurred to me. Also, since the "mind control mojo doesn't work on vengeance demons", how did Willow get Anya to free her?

Wow, you're right. I never thought about that.

Well, I think the "mind control mojo" worked, because Willow was so strong that she still could do it, although it doesn't normally work on vengeance demons.
But the thing with the fighting... no idea. Probably just a mistake the writers made.

1. Perhaps she needed to 'morph' to have the enhanced strength. And even demons can be knocked out (though it takes more effort).

2. Wasn't she busy keeping the protection spell up?

3. Looks like Anya overestimated herself.

I think the unspoken is right. Both Doyle and Angel are weaker then when they hide their demon halves. I think Angel even notes this asking Doyle why he doesn't fight as a demon since he's stronger with it. Maybe to use the anti-magic Anya had to stay in her human form. Or maybe Joss just change Anya's power works between 6 and 7.

I think this is totally the reason Dark Willow got the best of Anya. Anya's energy was already being channeled into the protection spell, but I also think Anya is much stronger in her demon state.

I would say that it would be bcus, as you know from watching willow, casting a spell can take up ALOT Of your energy, and Anya was trying very hard to keep up the forcefield to protect everyone - So It might have been because she had lost alot of her strength, being so tired out because of the spell she was casting. If she hadnt been casting the spell, maybe it wouldnt have worked ? 🙂
