Buffy Girl
I didn't see it as flying, more like floating as she was straight up. But everyone has different views I guess.
She's not straight up. Look at the background, you can see a city spread out beneath them. And as CharmedSlayer says, Anya specifically stated in Season Six that a witch at Willow's level couldn't teleport, she could only go "by air", i.e. fly. We saw her levitate once, we just never saw her actually traveling that way (probably due to the expense of the special effects.) So I'm not sure where people are getting the idea that this was something new done just for the comics.
Ah. Sorry, my bad.Are you talking about the season 8 cover or season 6 episode? When I said she is straight up, I meant on Buffy season 6. Not the new #10 cover.
I also wasn't very clear when I wrote my post, so again, I apologize. Only the "straight up" thing was in direct response to your post, and going back, I can see where I mis-read it; the other was in response to quite a few posts I've been seeing all over the 'net (including here) with the common theme of "since when can Willow fly?" Well, ever since she got powered up in Season Six. The difference between "floating" and "flying" when speaking of humans (who can't do either in the Real World) is, IMO, just a matter of semantics: float or fly, you're still off the ground and traveling through the air under your own power - a talent I'm certainly envious of, either way...And I realize that she couldn't teleport back then. But I am sure she can now, and I was saying that NOW, I would rather her teleport than fly. Some people just don't properly read posts...if you go back and read my two, you will see I was quite clear in NOT saying that willow teleported in season 6 but that I would prefer it for season 8 over flying, and that I thought in season 6 she floated more so than flew, not 'floated' in season 8.
I'm quite sure it's levitation; I guess my point is, where does "levitation" leave off and "flying" begin, since real humans can't do either? (And I wouldn't turn down either ability, if it was offered.)I almost want to say it's more levitation. I always saw flying as it is on issue #10's cover. With willow just kind of floating upright, looks like levitation. I repeated myself to make sure I was clear.
She could def have been 'flying' it's just not what I saw.
I hope they don't make it too weird, the whole flying thing. I hope it fits in nicely.
i think the cover is pretty sweet looking. i also think that it may be someones dream that willow is flying (maybe her dream), because she cant fly.
Artist Cliff Richars returns to Buffy in Season Eight #10, this January!
