Darla and Dru question

I just recently caught the episode with Darla and Dru, on Angel. I think the name of it was, Redifinition? It was the one where they get caught on fire by Angel.

I have a quick question. Kinda confused viewer here. I know they didn't die, 'cuz of spoilers, and also I've seen season four, so I know about Conner. Anyway, in some episodes of Buffy..they've set vampires on fire and killed them.

Here's my question, did Darla and Dru not die, because they got to the water quick, or they were stronger???

Or am I way off???
 
It's interesting because the reason behind your question is something we see alot in the series. You are not wrong. It is a mistake. It seems as though one shot vamps (there for one episode and only one) die really fast in the sunlight and from fire, while vampires who are regulars (Angel, Spike, Darla, Drusilla) seem to have a small grace period. It's been bothering me for a while, but I guess it has to be that way to tell stories that way and still keep the good characters alive.
 
It's quite funny when you think of that...Stupid vampires die from fire,intelligent ones and with speaking parts no....
 
yeah, that's what I was thinking. One that I can think of in particular is the one in Buffy, when the vamp has Gile's cornered, and Spike lights a cigarette and sets the vamp on fire and kills him.

I can think up weird things!! 🙂
 
I think that was because Darla and Dru have been around for what? over a century and that comes with alot of ability, knowledge and most of all strength.
Most vamps that are slay'n on buffy were just out of the ground so maybe thats why the quickness there but not with Dru/Darla.
 
most of teh vamps they kill are newbies, they are probably much weaker and probably die faster, it would make sense if teh ones that have been around for a long time were stronger and tdook longer to die, alot of times that happens when there staked to some dust immediatly and some take a few seconds, some even say like an entire sentence before they dust

The weaker vampires aren't very strong, and you run into them like everyday. That's why they die pretty much right away, and youll bump into new ones pretty soon. The stronger vampires last longer, but there are also fewer of them. So, you run into them every now and then and they survive very much, because they're so strong.
 
Yeah, like Kakistos, he was around, I forgot how many years, they just showed the eppy today. But they needed a log type stake to dust him.

so,the conclusion is that darla and dru didnt die cuz they are old,..???
