I can't find the source now 🙁 but I did read somewhere one time that Sarah and David did date briefly, but broke up 'cause they thought it was wrong to mix business with pleasure.

I think that that was the entire point of that particular scene. It WAS out of character for Buffy. She was using Spike at that time as an escape from what her friends expected her to be, and of what she actually was. Buffy Summers wasn't the type of girl to have sex in a public place, to wear handcuffs, or to tear houses down in an act (or several acts) of unbridled animal passion.
What Buffy Summers WAS, was a girl who had just lost a state of eternal rest and contentment due to the well intentioned but no less devastating actions of people who she considered to be her best friends in the world. She didn't want to be Buffy Summers, she wanted to be something, some One, totally different. Say whatever else you might want to say about Spike at that time, but I think that he was the only one who actually saw her pain, and was trying, in his own way, to help her.
(Which in no way is meant to imply that she doesn't love Angel the best)

Yes, very right. Spike was utterly selfless in his debauchery of Buffy. It really was quite trying for him to have wicked, nasty sexcapades with the object of his obssession. He really is a hero. How awful that must have been for him. Poor Spike.
I agreed with everything you said until that last part part. I agree that to some extent he was trying to help her but it wasn't a noble act of selflessness. He was working his own angle just as much as Buffy.

I disagree. She didn't wanted to be someone else. She wanted to find herself again. She was no one. Like she left part of her in Heaven, and now she needs that part back. To be whole again. And that's why I don't like Spuffy, everytime they've slept together she was more far away from that piece, he pushed her, but it wasn't a good push. If he loved her so damn much he should help her, not use her when she didn't know who she is. For me it's like he never slept with Buffy, he slept with the girl who was trying to be Buffy again.

Obviously Spike and Buffy's relationship wasn't exactly the healthiest thing in the world, and sometimes the right and wrong thing to do can be muddled even if you're in love with someone. Actually, especially if you're in love with someone. (I think here lies the difference between Buffy's relationship with Spike and her relationship with Angel, maybe?)
Spike saw an open chance to be physical with someone he loved -- Buffy -- and so he took that chance because she was willing. I think at that point, Spike just wanted as much of Buffy as he could have since he had been so desperately grasping at it for awhile.

There is a difference between wrong and selfish thing. If you see someone who is confused, and you love him, would you like to help him or make the situation worst? Buffy couldn't control herself. She wasn't herself. She was just this girl who was trying to find out her future once again. Her purpose in the world. I'm not going to say she didn't loved him, maybe she did, but only in season 7. In season 6 she didn't. He was the only thing he could keep her alive. Make her feel something. If Riley stayed that could be him. We see when he comes back, she thought he is her way out. That she can finally grasp something from the past she loved. Spike was selfish, and real love shouldn't be selfish.

I think it's both "wrong" and "selfish," but both of those can come into play even if you're in love. I mean, there's different types of love -- it isn't always pure and white and pretty. It can make you crazy, upset, even depressed. Maybe it isn't the truest form of real love per se, but it can often be disguised as it. From personal experience, I was very much in love with someone and may have done some not-so-great things so I could stay close to them, which seems to be Spike's case in S6. Horrible? Yes.
But I definitely understand where you're coming from! In my previous post above, I mentioned how that may be the difference between Spuffy and Bangel. With Bangel, Buffy and Angel do what's right despite themselves; Buffy sent him to a hell dimension because she knew it was for the best even though she loved him. As for Spuffy, well, I think that's all about the wrongness of love and not caring, doing what's presented to them and ignoring the consequences.

I know there are different kinds of love. People can do both good and bad things when they are together. But in the end they work it out, and start to love the bad sides of each other. I think that is point of love. To love someone because he's imperfect, but he/she seems perfect to you.
Sometimes when I'm watching second season, I ask my self, what if Buffy from the future came to the Buffy from the present, and told her all the things she's going to do. That she is going to sleep with Spike. WITH SPIKE! I would like to see her reaction back then, I think it would be intersting. In season 6 I was disapointed with Buffy. She was my hero, I wanted to be just like her, and then she did something like that. I always thought that girl know what love is. And she is never going to accept something less. She's never going to accept just sex, because we know she can live without it. Hell, I'm not saying you can't get out something pretty or good from Spuffy relathionship, but I don't think you can learn from it. I know love is not sweet and there are not big red roses everywhere, but it doesn't have to be all black and white.

Speaking of David and being married I have read some articles about rumors circulating that David is currently cheating on his playboy playmate wife. And also, he left his first wife for the current trophy wife he has now. I love Angel but I do think David used his fame to UPGRADE 🙁
I just heard the rumour too. Apparently he is supposed to have had an affair with Rachel Utichel, Tiger Wood's mistress. Girl gets around.
Although, I don't think he left his first wife, Ingrid Quinn, for his current wife. I think they met after he was divorced.

yeah, your probably right. I think I read that in a gossib mag, but it was like years ago so I am kind of fuzzy now.

I don't think it's true. The image that they are using as "evidence" of their meeting up is photoshopped. Also, the fact that she is also saying she bedded Ryan Seascrest, as well as DB and Tiger Woods. While Woods is look like it was true it just seems like she is looking to make a quick buck. There were other crazy claims like DB was texting her while his wife was giving birth to his daughter.
I never much liked DB, I personally think he is a bit of a douche but I don't think he is cretin. He'd have to be to do something like this.
At the end of the day we really know nothing about these people but the rumour broke in October and I only heard about last night so that kinda says to me there isn't a story there.

Umm, maybe the chemistry was great, but I think that quote was about to with who Angel's heart was all the time. And thank you very much.
I enjoyed your thread alot. I like hearing the actor's and actress's personal opinions on their characters.
We don't know that Angel's heart was with her all the time 😉 That was just David's opinion on his character. He may be the man who plays the character but I'll try to correctly qoute one of your posts I read once, "I only believe the feelings that I see on screen. That is what matters to me."
Back to all these qoutes on Bangel. If the actors think that, that is their opinion but that does not make it automatically right. As you said, I believe what I see on the screen. I think that is why there are ships and why it does not matter what they tell us. We see these characters and connect with them, fall in love with them and support which couple we like best. Some will connect with them more than others. It depends on who you are, and obviously the people in these qoutes connected more with Bangel.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that these qoutes don't prove that Bangel was better than Spuffy or Briley. Some people just connect with some couples more than others. I know that is not why you posted it PB, but I'm just saying it because I think some people took it that way.

Thank you. I know these are only their opinions, and of course, everyone have their owns, but I was so happy when I've read David and Sarah are fans of my fav couple too 🙂
