David Boreanaz Back on TV?

David Boreanaz is looking to return to series television.

The former star of the WB Network's "Angel" is set to star in an ABC drama about an undercover cop in the world of murder for hire. The show has received a script commitment from the network. Patrick Smith Kelly ("Don't Say a Word") is writing the script.

Boreanaz recently completed the indie films "Mr. Fix It" and "The Hard Easy." He is filming another indie, "These Girls."
 
Well that plot sounds throrougly disgusting however ABC has been doing some good work lately-- Lost, Desperate Housewives, Boston Legal so maybe it wont suck though I'm highly skeptical.
 
I will never be able to see him as anything else but Angel, after playing him for 7/8 years it's going to be hard for me to break that connection but that's just me, not a criticism of the roles he takes on just my opinion. Mind you, if he will be playing an undercover cop it's not exactly a million miles away from that role, really.

Good luck to him though, hope it does well. 😀
 
Well, I wish him a world of good luck! The plot of the series doesn't seem so bad if it's done correctly. The way it's done will make all the difference in this case.
 
Mrs P is avidly looking forward to David's televisual return.

The show's premise sounds a little hackneyed to me, but with the right touch it could be a winner.

Here's a little bit more about the project from TVtome - Untitled Boreanaz/Kelly Project. It seems that DB will be playing Jack Ballantine, a long-serving Phoenix undercover cop. The show is slated to air in September 2005.
 
Well good for him to get another starring role. I can see him doing something like this...but like EDB - it's going to be difficult for me to see him as anyone other than Angel. I wish him all the best though and I will most certainly watch!
 
I can certainly understand the feeling from EDB and Jenny. It's gonna be pretty hard for a lot of fans accustomed to having DB as Angel to break out of that.

Myself personally, I say it's better to have DB back on TV than NO DB on TV at all. We as DB fans certainly owe it to him to follow his career wherever it may go, and should wish him nothing but the best in those future endeavors...including this proposed new TV project. I'd be most interested in watching it, if it ever actually comes about...and I certainly will be watching.

I really hope that the serie come going and that there will be more than just a few episodes or seasons... I hope there's like 3 seasons or something since I think that well... shows in general gets quit here and there and it's sad... Besides, seeing David on the tv makes me happy so I really hope that he's planning a new show to be in 🙂
 
Similar shows are all over the place...and it could just be exactly like all the rest, or if done right, it could be very good. So I'm looking forward to seeing him return to TV, and hoping it's great. It'll be hard to see him as anyone but Angel though...
 
I'll always think of him as Angel. I mean when ya play a character for so many years it's hard to become someone else. So any of those Indie films released here in the states?
