Just saw this on buffy.nu

- Angel spunk David Boreanaz isn't too pleased with Sarah Michelle Gellar's refusal to return to her Buffy role for a one-off TV special. Although Sarah claims she's too busy after signing up for a remake of the Japanese horror flick The Grudge, David is furious. He apparently declared, "If Sarah were to come back for a final farewell - like I did for her on her series finale - that would be fantastic ... It's not like you do a 50 or 100 episodes of a show and say, 'Screw you.' You have a responsibility to your fans."

If Sarah refuses to return as Buffy, I don't think she understands that her fan base will drop by... well quite a friggen bit! Come on Sarah, you're smart, right...

Very happy to see David is expressing his feelings on the subject of Sarah!

Awwwwwwwwwwwww Poor DB ::crying:: SMG could be nice enough to do it once.... For the ending...For the fans! And to see what would happen between Spike, Her, and Angel hehe

Angel to Buffy: Come Back!
by Daniel R. Coleridge

David Boreanaz

As reported in the current issue of TV Guide magazine, Sarah Michelle Gellar will not be back as Buffy this season, after all. The former star of Buffy the Vampire Slayer was in talks to do a two-episode arc on Buffy spinoff Angel. However, says Joss Whedon, creator of both supernatural series: "She feels it's not the right time." Asked about Gellar's decision to bail, Angel vamp David Boreanaz bares his fangs...

"I honestly don't know what happened," he grumpily tells TV Guide Online. "Why don't you ask her about it? I'm sure she'll come up with a good answer."

After simmering down "” good thing his face doesn't contort monstrously, like it does on TV! "” the actor looks to the future. Should Angel's fifth season turn out to be its last, Boreanaz hopes Gellar will at least do the final episode, if only to help him bite the dust in style. "If Sarah wants to come back for a final farewell "” like I did for her on her series finale "” that would be fantastic," he says. "Now, that's something for her to decide. That would be great, to have her. I think it would be great for the fans to see that.

"I think it's a responsibility to do those [farewell] shows and give the appreciation for the fans that are watching this," Boreanaz adds. "Those are the people that tune in and have made us who were are today. It's not like you do 50 or 100 episodes of a show and say, 'Screw you.' You have a responsibility to your fans, and that's important. You give as much as you can responsibly, as long as you're having fun with it."

Are you listening, Ms. Gellar? Buffy's fans are staking their hopes on it.

The funny this is, I remember reading that now! Bugger, sorry for posting recycled garbage...

I regret to announce that SMG's fanbase has already dropped dramatically. I dont know what she thinks she is doing but she aint gaining no friends by snubbing her roots!
Good on David for showing his true colours, if anyone can make her see sense its David.

Thats really sad....first she quits a very popular show, then she refuses to come back for a guest appearance because she is busy with Scooby doo and some other movie that no one really cares about...LOL. Sad....

Um well did you ever try to think that maybe Sarah cares about the movie? she does have feelings do ya know and do you honestly think she cares if you or other people out there dont care about the movie?

God I swear sometimes people act like actors have no life beyond the what the audience thinks they should do.

Hey, if making a live-action Scooby Doo movie is truly one of Sarah's life dreams, then all the more power to her. But for some odd reason, I really really doubt that.

I can understand if Sarah wants to break from her Buffy typecast, but it's not smart to ditch your most famous role altogether. By doing so, she's alienating her original fanbase. And more than half the time, it's your old fans that stand by you the longest. If David B. were to star in a new movie, I'd be willing to bet that more than half the ticket sales would come from fans of his role as Angel.

All I'm saying is that if Sarah thinks she's strengthening her career by doing this, I believe she's headed towards a rude awakening.

It appears that David quote was taken quite out of context in that first bit posted. As Primal Slayer said - it is Sarah's life and career. If she doesn't have time, she doesn't have time. There are things such as contracts as well. She's not alienating me - it's great if she comes back, but if it doesn't work out it doesn't.

PS and BS: maybe you're right, but I don't see the things that way,..I think she is the most stupid girl I have ever 'met'...doesn't she understand that she is gonna lose us?,well, you, she has already lost me,I'm not her fan since she started acting like a bitch...I totally understand how David feels. He has all the right to feel that way,..don't you think he was busy too,he was filming his own series season final and he made the guest appearance anyway..why?,cuz he cares about people, about his fans, about the people he worked with during three years...he doesn't live on Marth thinking,'Oh,I'm so famous,I'm gonna do a movie that ~as Chelsea said~,no one cares and I'll live happily ever after caring nothing about nobody but me and Mr.Brailess Junior'..God!,I'm so upset with her...Before all this crap of 'I'm a diva, bloody fan don't bother me!' I loved Sarah, she was my idol!,..how blind I was!...I can't believe I liked her as a person..she can't be considerated a person,..does she even have feelings?...Okay,I'm being too melodramatic, she is just an actress, not a murderer or something,.but, well, that's my point,..Sarah:you're an actress...well,act for one week, pretend you care the people that made you famous...you, without your fans(btw, you're gonna lose them all) are nothing,...Buffy made you, before that, you were just an actress,...you are what you are and have what you have thanks to Buffy,so be grateful and give to her one last week,...she,we,they(your ex friends) deserve it.

Sorry for being mean, but that's the way I feel...if you want, punish me,..for saying the truth

*Angel Forever*

See I don't think she acts like a diva at all.

Has she actually said since the cancellation that she won't do an episode? Not that I've seen.

Well,if she really wants to help and make the appearance,..what is she waiting for?..we're running out of time...Angel is going to end in a couple of weeks, the writers have to changes the eps and write the series final,...if she is really going to do it,she should stop eating her sushi and do it now

Thanks not punishing me,you're a Goddess...Sarah:learn!

I'm unhappy that SMG desided not to do 2 episodes on Angel. I was very excited when I read a tv guide in early september about how she was going to do some episodes later in the year. What happened? I, as a fan, have been let down and I'm kinda pissed, but I'm aloud to be right? She's filming the new scoobie do movie......big deal.....i remember the night "Chosen" aired, she went on a tv interview and said she'd do Angel again because there are still many Buffy/Angel stories to be told. Well, she had her chance to go back. I guess I have to honor her decission and support her in her career choices. I'm also glad that David Boreanaz finally showed how he truely felt about the whole subject. He's such a nice guy and to let people know he was angry was shocking for me. I've never seen him complain or be angry, he's always smiling. Oh well...

No, I never said that she should hold up her life to come back and do it. I believe she should have come back for at least a few minutes of an episode...maybe just a small cameo showing that she still cares about her roots. She would only have to take a day out of her schedule for such a small part. I don't really care if she cares about what I think...it just seems like a betrayal to entirely put the "Buffyverse" out of her life. (Which happens to be her big hit that got her to where she is today)

Sarah definately owes something to Joss and the rest of the crew, but she would probably take the finale over. I would love to see a BTVS/ATS movie sometime where buffy & Angel get together. That would be great!

PS. I'd also like to say I am not furious with Sarah, I am just kinda p*****! Lol!

I understand where everyone is coming from with wanting SMG back.......I'm totally right there with you. Buffy and Angel and Buffy and Spike need definate closure BUT the thing is she is filming in Japan and she has a contract with the movie people which may mean they will not let her go back to the US to film on Angel. It would hold up production and cost them a lot of money.

Also SMG may have been planning to do an appearance in Season 6 of Angel (which was mentioned quite a few times) but now that it has been cancelled it may not have given her enough time to change her schedule.

I'm as upset as the rest of you but can understand that she has a job to do and her loyalities at the moment are with the movie she is filming.

Lets just hope that the film people let her go to the US and film Angel and lets hope SMG wants to do it. Fingers crossed!!

I couldn't have said it better. I never knew Angel was cancelled!!! Maybe UPN could take it on like they did with Buffy... damn the WB!

Not only do they need closure, but to me it seems only fair that SMG would show up for the last ep, or at least one of the last eps. DB showed up for BTVS, if only for a few minutes. I think the favor should be returned, just dont let it dominate the show. It has to be Angel's finale. ::crying2:
