David Bowie Dies Aged 69

I didn't know he was ill, and he was still recording music as well.

I had to put the news on this morning to check to see if it was a hoax or real.

This awful, can't believe it. At least he went out on a high and has left such an amazing legecy. Its one of the big regrets in life that I never got to see him live. But his music and performances will live on in me forever. Funnily enough I was going to go out and buy his new record today anyway, and that's just what I'm going to do. Then I'm locking myself away for the day and playing nothing but Bowie. RIP dear sir. You left too soon, but at least did things your way, and left us with so much.🙂

I'll always remember him like this

Very underrated film, along with his role in The Man Who Fell to Earth his best film appearance I'd say.

I'm truly gutted. 🙁

I had no idea he was even ill. He managed to suppress news of his ongoing illness incredibly well and only yesterday I was only watching a couple of his videos from his new album 'Blackstar' and thinking he never fails to deliver. Now all the hospital imagery in one of them is making horrible, horrible sense.

As someone said on the BBC news today he was an incredibly creative man throughout his life and it feels like he's managed art direct his own passing.

He was a icon in the true sense of the word and really will be missed by many.

I can't listen to his music today, it's too hard. 🙁

Sad news. I'm shocked. I've been listening to his new album Blackstar for the last two days, and it's amazing. If this isn't the ultimate way of ending your career on a high note, I don't know what is.
Goodbye, Starman.🙁

Gutted...Bowie has been a constant in my musical firmament since the iconic appearance playing Starman on Top of the Pops.

Don't forget those Old Grey Whistle Test performances!
Never really listened to his music, but this is sad 🙁

I hope he rests in peace.

This just breaks my heart. I adored him.

I know. In the car on the way to work almost every station was playing Bowie and I just burst into tears.

I'm glad that I got to see him play, one of the best concerts I ever went to. I was just freaking reading about the new record and thinking that I had to get it.....I'm glad though that he managed to keep his illness private.

Yeah, had no clue that Bowie was sick...

Was expecting to hear a lot from him this year with the new album and all. Instead this news came. 🙁

I love the Ziggy Stardust stuff and a few other songs but besides that he has never been my thing.
Can't deny his greatness though. He was a very special man indeed.

/SK

Yeah and his new album is great and an early contender for Album of the year. He did it his way and left on a high note. Impressive indeed.🙂

Regardless of you knowing him as David Jones or David Bowie I bet he was glad he tried to be a Mime artist.
The man strived to be as best as he could regardless what he was doing and he did a lot, 20 films, 29 Albums.
He sold about 140 million records and converted many times that number of people to accept others who lived
outside their accepted norm.
And what I remember him for, Space Oddity.
