David Boreanaz admits to cheating on his wife - Access Hollywood

"Bones" star David Boreanaz is publicly admitting to having cheated on his wife, Jaime Bergman, because he claims a woman he had a relationship with threatened to share details with the media.

The actor told People magazine that a woman, whom he would not name, contacted an attorney and asked for money. She allegedly also said she would reach out to the press.

"I was associated with a woman who I was involved with and had a relationship with," Borneaz told the magazine. "She asked for money. I felt as though I was being blackmailed or there was some sort of extortion."

The FOX drama star also told PEOPLE that his marriage has been hit hard by his transgressions.

"Our marriage has been tainted with my infidelities," he said. "I was irresponsible."

The actor, who has been married to Bergman for almost nine years, said he and his wife are now "working on repairing what has been damaged so badly."

Last year, rumors surfaced in Star magazine and on PerezHilton.com that the actor had stepped out with Rachel Uchitel, a woman who was reportedly linked to Tiger Woods.

David Boreanaz went public today with his extra-marital affair after Gloria Allred contacted Boreanaz's lawyer and demanded six figures ... sources tell TMZ.

David admitted to PEOPLE mag he had a relationship with a woman, but "She asked for money. I felt as though I was being blackmailed...."

TMZ knows what went down. We're told Boreanaz had a short-term relationship with the woman -- one source says they hooked up "2 or 3 times." Sources say he started paying her money -- several thousand dollars here and there -- but she began demanding more, threatening to go public with the affair. Boreanaz then confessed the affair to Jaime Bergman, his wife of 9 years.

Enter Gloria Allred, who reps the mistress. Allred contacted Boreanaz's lawyer -- legal pit bull Marty Singer -- and demanded 6 figures.

Boreanaz then blunted the attack by going public with his affair. He has refused to pay the mistress another cent.

Imo, this is really nobody's business but DB & his wife's. I could care less. Is he an assclown for cheating? Yes. Will it make me think he's not as good at his job? No.

Still think DB is a cool guy, well he comes across as that anyway. He appears to be someone who wouldn't fail to make you laugh. Judging by what Seth and Sarah have said he is a funny guy. Not too surprised to find out he has strayed, he is a bit of a ladies man after all. Like pieceofgosa said though, it is not really anyone's else's business, hope it doesn't affect his career.

I feel really bad for his wife. 🙁 I can't imagine finding out that my husband and lover of nine years and the father of my children did that to me.

I also feel like a horrible person for my first reaction being "and it wasn't with Sarah Michelle Gellar" (considering the rumors about that) followed by "what kind of woman gets to sleep with David Boreanaz and actually wants money out of him? A lot of fans would pay to sleep with him!"

It's always sad to hear when someone has cheated. Especially since David and Jamie have been married for such a long time (by Hollywood standards). Is he an asshole for cheating? YES. But people make mistakes, and at least he's trying to work things out with Jamie instead of immediately divorcing for "unreconcilable differences" or some crap like that.

Well, that just sucks. I might admire him less now. It's awful that he would do that to his wife and the mother of his children. Hopefully he really is a good guy at heart and he's not just saying all of this to save face. Far, far too many infidelities in the news lately.

Wow. Too bad. Not a smart move, David. I hope this doesn't affect his career. But in agreement with others; this isn't really our business, but I'd be lying if I said this didn't effect my view of him. I don't take kindly to cheaters, especially married ones with kids.

Beautiful, intelligent, talented, etc, and yet the guy is still unfaithful. It really can happen to anyone.

I don't care about actors' personal lives. I pretty much assume they're all a-holes 😉 That way nothing surprises me. I don't see why someone might think you can't judge people based on their actions, though. IMO that's pretty much the only thing it is okay to judge people by.

Makes you wonder who else is cheating and just waiting to get caught. He should be ashamed of himself. My heart goes out to his wife and kids, a betrayal such as this is a hard pill to swallow. I've been there.



Why people(women do it too) are willing to risk their marriage and the HEALTH of themselves and a significant other by cheating truly baffles me.

Always thought his wife Jaime was an attractive woman, Rachel FUGchitel is a plasitc skank.

So sad to hear this. I always think he looks like a playboy(just the look), but he's always with his family and say wonderful things about his wife that made me adore him. Now I like him less. I'm just glad it's the past. I hope his family will be okay again.

I remember a small rumour swirling over this a few months ago and now to actually hear it is pretty shocking. I just don't get why David or anyone else who has cheated in the entertainment lately would do it to people who are so beautiful and always so devoted to them. It just baffles me.

It's sad to hear. I've never warmed to Boreanaz in any interviews he's done, but I thought he was devoted to his wife. Of course the rumor mill has kicked into over-drive now. The worst being that he was texting this woman while Jaime was giving birth to their daughter. Now I'm not one to believe rumors, but if this one turns out to be true, someone should kick him in the balls. 😀

I don't think that's fair. This isn't a normal situation. I see it as him trying to contain the story and protect his family. It's better for him to tell his wife, then break the story himself than have the other woman sell the details piecemeal to various rags. Look at the whole Tiger Woods thing and how that was drawn out. Of course, I'm not saying he's blameless, but I think he did the right thing...eventually.

Plus, we don't know if he accepted money for the story. The cynic in me thinks he probably did, but we don't know.
