David Fury on the end of Angel and petitions.

Attention Everybody! MSG from Fury

I just got to talk to Fury for a minute and he comfirmed that it's true. He is afraid that there is nothing we can do. I told him that we are pretty much pissed and he said thats like we should be. They appeciate our effort. But we don't should knock ourselves out. And I shall tell you guys a big thank you from all the peeps at ME!

musn't give up

we musn't listen to anyone who says that nothing can be done about angel being cancelled. there are shows that have been saved because of fan intervention. first there was "la femme nikita" that got cancelled after four seasons but the fans spoke out and were able to get another eight episodes to conclude the series properly. and then there was "roswell" that was going to get cancelled after a few seasons but people sent hundreds of bottles of tabasco sauce to the network and got a couple more seasons. so it can totally be done!!!
we should do things like bombard the wb with letters and crosses and stakes and other "angel" related items. my friends and i have started on a couple packages and we're going to make a tape of all the "angel" fans we know pleading to save the show.
 
Giving up isn't in my nature. Neither is working a dead horse. Angel still has a lot of life in it and if we can't make the WB see that perhaps another network will do it. The problem is there is a financial crush in the industry and Angel is more expensive to produce than a cheesy reality show. That, plus the fact that they ( UPN ) are bringing back Dark Shadows so they probably feel they've covered their undead bases. WRONG. Even if they update Dark Shadows, it's still not going to pull in viewers like Angel would. A segment of our ( U.S) population has grown up during Buffy and come into adulthood. These twenty to thirty somethings can appreciate a more adult form of drama that Angel offers. So guys lets not throw in the towel before we've done all we can do. The LEAST we can do is fax, email, and send postcards to the WB about the lack of renewal ( positive language I suppose) And also contacting other networks to see if they might be induced into taking it on.
 
we could send hairgel cause of the nancy boy hair gel you get it? we cant exactly send crosses and stakes cause that wont end well
 
It doesn't matter if the chances of changing their minds are slim to nothing...we'll try anyway..we won't give up on our show...

I think its better to focus the attention on other networks to pick it up. Personally I think its a waste of time contacting The WB as they have made their decision, one they will have spent time making for quite a while before it was announced.
 
I'd like to think that the fans could make a difference but being always the pessimist I doubt that anything we do will impact the future of Angel. I'm just thankful for the 5 fantastic years of Angel we've had.

I hope I'm proven wrong and that someone, somewhere gives Angel the future it really deserves though.😉

Thanks and nope, the new sig allowance is 725x150 - the banner is 725x 145.😉 It may cut it off if you are using the 'left post' style layout of the boards though rather than the 'top post' version, which I am.

I, also being a pessimist, doubt they will listen or care what the fans say, but I try anyway...

I'm also hoping they can prove my pessimistic side wrong, and someone else picks up Angel...but I'm not getting my hopes up, I don't want the dissapointment...but even if I think it's doubtful I won't give up on supporting the show, as I'm sure everyone on here will also not give up, and trying to get someone to listen to us, the fans.

BTW, I really like your banner Cordelia.
