David Messina

Got the Angel Omnibus the other day, and its pretty good so far. Does anyone else agree with me that David Messina is probably the best Angel artist? His work in the curse was fantastic, really captured the feel and colour of everything. Also his spike story in ATF: First Night featured great art aswell. I'm just thinking how much better atf could have been with him at the helm instead of urru, does anyone else agree?

I'm disappointed in all the Angel comic art (excluding some amazing cover art). I'd say Messina is my "favorite" of the Angel pencillers. I like the clarity, the sharp edges. The likenesses are good but not slavishly accurate to the point that they kill the energy of what's happening on the page.

Totally agreed,

The only canon angel art that i like i think is in issues 10-12, when its nick runge and stephen mooney. Looks great IMO.
