It's an old video, but I never seen it before and I found it pretty funny. David tells the interviewer his perfect way to end the series.

PS. I forgot how much longish hair suits him. Been watching to much Bones.

Not that Joss would go for it, but that'd be super funny. I'd add to that, Angel singing on the street with pure happiness before he's hit by the truck. Something like: "'Cause baby, you're a firework, la la la!"

Historical inaccuracies aside, this would actually be kinda in keeping with Angel's life. He thinks he has finally gotten a break and then BAM, the Universe sits on him.

Hahahaha, that was great. 😀 He get hit by a truck... and it ends like that!

Its a hilarious theory but if that were to really happen I doubt half the people who find this funny would be laughing. I know if it really happened I would have a heart attack from anger lol but its a funny idea.

I like that he's being so jolly about it. I think I would have been fuming if it had happened in the series though

Having Angel end that way may sound funny at first, but if you actually think about it for a moment, that's probably the most logical ending for Angel, or, for that matter, Spike, Faith, Buffy, and all of the others. They're all warriors, and there is nothing more useless and unappreciated AFTER the battle has been won and what we consider "normal life" has resumed. It's logical, it's fitting, and it allows them to pass on with some dignity. Without demons or vampires to fight, what do he demon hunters and vampire slayers do? Other than Gunn, who is now a lawyer, and Xander, who is a construction worker, none of them even have any viable skills with which to support themselves. Would you like to see Buffy at age 55, overweight, with flat feet and varicose veins serving coffee at the local pancake house? Or Willow telling fortunes and doing (fake) magic tricks at kisd' birthday parties? Someone once said that the most fitting end for any warrior is to die in the last battle of the last war. That could not be more true than for the warriors of the Buffyverse.

And just as teh truck passes the TV immediatley flips to the black/Whedon screen.

Kidding aside, I actually think that it would be a pretty good ending. (I haven't seen how it ends, so please don't spoil it for me 😛) I guess it would work better, if Angel died in a dramatic way and not from getting hit by a bus 😀 But that idea is really good, in my opinion.

David's talent for dark comedy was greatly underused in the series - they only discovered he is more amazing to watch when he is being funny on top of being in pain by the end of the series. That aside, I actually appreciate Joss' actual ending in NFA way better. I have to give Whedon a tip of a hat for being able to deliver just the right amount of anguish and relief with his endings. And, no , I don't find DB's ending in any way appropriate - which only shows that his sense of humor is messier than mine.

I think he was kidding for sure 🙂. Like other have said, he's actually a really, really funny guy when he wants to be. Even when he's not trying to be witty, he can own a camera.

But as for his ending? Ah, no. I loved the way "Not Fade Away" ended. It's actually my all-time favorite finale for a show.

Still, purely as a fan, it would have been pretty cool to see Angel become human at the end. Angel's my guy, so I would have liked that.

Angel and Buffy walking into the sunset with him Human and her no longer the only slayer so free to have a normal life :D
I once got the idea for a (Spuffy, of course) fan fiction where Angel won the Shanshu, became human, and married Nina. Then, at a highly passionate moment on their honeymoon, she accidentally bit him. Human to vampire, vampire to human, human to werewolf.

(Well, I thought that it was a story with potential, anyhow.I may write it yet.)
