Dawn as the next slayer

I thought this would go against all the facts as slayerage is never through family but someone on the boards raised an interesing point that dawn is part of buffy so i thought this opened it up again.
BUT remember the slayer line doesnt run thoruhg buffy anymore - if she dies, another lsayer WONT be called - its if faith dies now, it runs through her.
Also, its a good way of continuing with the show when SMG levaes (thatll be a ::crying:: SAD ::crying:: day). Would she keep buffys friends to help or would she develop a new kinda show with her scoobies?!

It would be a good way if SMG was to leave Buffy but that's the only reason I think.I don't think I can picture Dawn as a slayer!
 
I agree only if sarah left but what do yu guys think of the problems and issues i raised? Do you think she'd have her own scoobies?

I think if Dawn became a slayer and had her own scoobies, it would totaly take the whole concept of Buffy away, at least if she did become a slayer, i think the scooby gang would stick!
 
Yeah, but if buffy died (only way she could go, really) then yeah, theyd stick around to help dawn but c'mon, she wouldnt wanna spend all her time with her sisters friends! At least, i dont think so. Plus, i know it wouldnt be buffy as such, but a whole new turn. Coz the show is based on "Buffy" the vampire slayer, not "the vampire slayer".

By all that's holy no! 😡 If Dawn became The Slayer I would definately stop watching! 🙄 Hopefully BTVS will finish with the 7th series! 😛
 
It is a very wild story line, that would also mean Faith would die too, i can see Dawn just having a normal life when Buffy dies.... although it would be a fun storyline, like Buffy in 'Welcome to the hellmouth' all over again! *lol*
 
Exactly! Lol, definetly a wild storyline! Id rather that SMG never left but since that isnt going to happen coz she cant stay forever, lol, i think it would be kinda cool!
Seliq, i hope BTVS doesnt stop after 7 seasons - the more the better, as long as SMG stays! 😉
 
Slayers don't follow in a family line. In other words, Dawn can't inherit the powers after Faith dies just because Buffy's her sister. It has to be a completely different girl. Faith isn't getting outta jail and she aint coming back to the show. So there's probably not gonna be another slayer, hence no new show.
 
I get the whole no-family thing - i said that before, but someone brought up the good point that dawn is a part of buffy (buffy said that in season 5, probably The Gift "the monks made her out of me") so that might be an argument that dawn will hva ethat kinda power . . . ??? Just a thought!

Omg Dawn? A Slayer? I certainly hope not. She hasn't got the strength that Buffy has got and if she becomes a slayer I'm not going to watch it no more. Dawn is so irritating to me and if she gets the lead role...
Iew Dawn the Vampire Slayer...it doesn't sound cool for me
 
I really like Dawn and think michelle is a fab actress! I think it would be different to buffy the vampire slayer show, but would be as ineteresting to watch and good to compare the two, although i do belive it would never be as successful as buffy, but you know, it really could get its own audience and could even surpass your expectations!

I can't picture Dawn as a slayer.
My dad did mention something - my dad thought Buffy died for good in The Gift, he said it would be a good story line if Buffy came back as a spirit pressuring Dawn to continue her work.

Sassy - it would have been interesting, but dawn would ahve to have buffys power and be a layer herself for that to work - otherwise it would just be suicide! Lol.
