Dawn Clues

How far back into the series do the clues to Dawn's arrival appear in the show? I once read they can go as far back as Season 3 but I'm not so sure, the only biggest clue was at the very end of Season 4 "Be back before Dawn". Anyone know any others?
 
I think Joss knew he wanted Buffy to have a little sister in season 3, so that's when the clues started.
 
No, the dream Faith had when Buffy is stabbing her was in season 4, with the coma. But Faith comes to Buffy in her dream when they both were at the hospital after their fight. Faith clues Buffy some stuff, including about Dawn.
 
I remember Faith telling Buffy while they were making up the bed "Lil sis coming, I know". I think that was the most obvious moment that Dawn would arrive. To be honest I don't get that line at all. Why did she say that line in the first place, I can't remember.

"Little Miss Muffet counting down from 730"

I have no idea who Miss Muffet is, I think it's from a song or something. Miss Muffet is Dawn, and the number 730 is the countdown till Buffy's death - 2 years from then. It's about Dawn's coming. That's what I've heard.

Miss Muffet is a reference from a nursery rhyme:

Little Miss Muffet
Sat on a tuffet
Eating her curds and whey
Along came a spider
And sat down beside her
And scared Miss Muffet away

That said, my mother always calls me Miss Muffet, which I never quite understood...

Oh, wow, thnx. They really thought about Dawn way before Season 5. These references are really great trivia. It proves that Dawn coming was inevitable. Is it only Faith who references Dawn other than Tara of coarse.
