I was being a nerd and typed in the word "Dawn" on google, and here's what I got as a definition from Wikipedia: "Dawn refers to the twilight before sunrise."
Is it possible that there is a connection here?
I of course looked up all the definitions of Dawn, Twilight, and I even through "dusk" in there for good measure:
1. Twilight: the soft, diffused light from the sky when the sun is below the horizon, either from daybreak to sunrise or, more commonly, from sunset to nightfall.
2. Dawn: the first appearance of daylight in the morning. (let's not forget the "twilight before sunrise" comment)
3. Dusk: the state or period of partial darkness between day and night; the dark part of twilight. (maybe we'll see "Dusk" in season 9 - bad joke, I know)
Either way, I'm probably wasting my time searching for clues, but perhaps the clue is in his name. Maybe Twilight refers to Dawn... perhaps whatever magic it took to create Dawn has done something to create or empower the being we know as Twilight.
Wikipedia had another nice little reference to the word Dawn:
"In folklore, belief exists that dawn banishes evil spirits, ghosts, vampires, trolls, faeries and demons is common, for various reasons, throughout Eastern and Western cultures."
Hey, I realize Wikipedia is often not the strongest source of information, but you gotta admit it has some interesting things going on...

Angelic Slayer
That's definitely an interesting idea, I hadn't thought of that.... would be really cool if they somehow used that in the comics :)
