I don't know if anyone else saw this on msn.com today (August 8), or if this is posted somewhere else on this website, but on that website there was an article from E! online about Buffy. But in addition to the article from Wanda, there was a quote from Joss Whedon about Michelle Trachtenberg's character.

"And, in one more sign that Dawn may get her chance to fill Buffy's shoes: Whedon tells USA Today that he's hoping to make Trachtenberg's character less whiny. "

You can view the entire article on the following website.

Thank God!! Less whiny...finally!!!! What was it that Willow all said for us:

WILLOW: Did you cry? Of course you did. I get that, I understand the crying, you cry because you're human. But you weren't always.
DAWN: Yes I was...
WILLOW: No - please, you're telling me you don't remember? You used to be ...what, some mystic ball of energy. Maybe that's why you're crying all the time, "Dawny." You don't belong here.
Wanna go back? End the pain? You'll be happier. I'd be happier. We'll all be a lot happier without having to listen to all your constant whining.
DAWN:Willow... stop...
WILLOW🙁mocking) "Mom!" "Buffy!" "Tara!" Waah!
Come on, someone's gotta stop the carnage.

No more whining?!?
Has Joss been reading our posts on the board? The ones that describe how we hate Dawn's CONSTANT whining?
Hip Hip Hooray!!!
Excuse me now while I go do my happy dance...

That'll be great. However, I just don't think (at this time) that I would be all that happy about having the 'stake handed over' to Dawn. I mean we know she's not the slayer - that is completely clear from the "rules" of how and what a slayer is. So to me it just wouldn't make sense. I think it would be really cool to see her learn how to fight and fight along side Buffy and all - but "taking over"...it just wouldn't be the same.

Well I read on Spoiler Slayer today that at one point in episode 2 she may attempt to stake Spike, and I regard them as a pretty reliable source.

Well I think as far as the whining goes, I think even MT had had enough of that, since she came out pretty strong at the Academy event about that, and it looks like Joss listiened to her if not us.

it doesn't makse sense for Buffy to leave the show and Dawn to continue as the Slayer... even with the lame excuse that since Dawn is created from Buffy then she's got Slayer blood in her. The show would cease to be Buffy the Vampire Slayer... literally. It would be a REALLY bad move by Joss.

I don't know what Joss is going to do with her, he may do nothing, but he also seems hell-bent on making her more popular, so that alone may mean he has future plans for her.
