Doesn't anybody still get mad that "Dawn's Lament" wasn't finished? It sounded so beautiful imo

Yes! Here, me! 🙂

I guess it's not the most popular opinion, though... heard from a lot of peeps on here that they don't like Dawn's singing (or, Dawn, for that matter... though I do).

Nope. I don't like Dawn's singing, and the song was only okay-sounding. Plus, her entire arc in S6 was already summed up by those two lines (which just goes to show what sort of arc she had in S6).

I was really surprised how good (most) of the actors and actress can sing! I was impressed! And I loved Dawn singing!

Umm... not really. I mean, they all obviously had vocal lessons for this episode, so they sounded reasonable. But giving Michelle more singing lines (which she didn't even want), wouldn't make it better or add anything. Doesn't have to do with the fact that I don't like Dawn though. She danced well, which is the thing she did request to do a lot.

I would've liked to hear the rest of the song, but, as I understand, Joss didn't even consider finishing it.

MT's voice was a little thin, but I thought it was sweet and I kind of like watching a musical where not everyone sings perfectly.

OTOH, we did get her amazing dance, instead, and I wouldn't trade that for anything.

While I am a fan of Dawn, I wasn't too upset that we never got to hear more of "Dawn's Lament". Michelle is definitely not a singer, and I don't like to be forced to listen to someone who can't sing. LOL However, I would have liked to hear more of what was going on inside her head at that time in her life.

I think she still sounded noticeably better than Aly... ;)
You know those really slow, boring songs in musicals that you just wait for it to end to get to the good stuff? That's what I thought her song was going to be like, and I was happy that it got cut short.

I love it! I think Michelle has a very pretty voice and I'm constantly annoyed that she was so self conscious and that the song wasn't finished. I think it had the potential to be a very pretty song (however much I do not care for Dawn's whining and complaining in season 6).

It might also be added, I thin some people are a little rough on the cast in terms of their voices. And I generally think most people have nice voices because they're nicer than mine. Plus I listen to lyrics more than voice anyway...

InsaneMystic agrees: I think she still sounded noticeably better than Aly...

Oh yeah, definitely!! I try not to be too hard on either of them. Not everyone is born with vocal abilities, so I give kudos to them for even the few lines they sang. I heard in the commentary that Aly was SO scared to sing, so I'm glad Joss didn't force them to.

As soon as she opened her mouth I whispered, "No" over and over again. I was so happy when she was kidnapped. It stopped that awful singing. I liked her dancing though 😀

To me it sounded like a whole song. As has been noted, it summed up Dawn in Season 6. If OMWF was a plotless musical blah blah blob, and Dawn hadn't gotten kidnapped by the creepy dudes, I can still see the song just trailing off and ending like it did. Sometimes it doesn't take much music to get a point across!
