Some thoughts of S3 -
As I re-watch the show, the more I realize how much I can identify with Dawson. With the desire to want to dissect, define, and overanalyze everything in an attempt to understand what has gone awry. I can relate to his idealism, how he wants everyone to be happy, even at the expense of his own. I can relate to his love of movies, of fiction, and his rejection of reality. When I was watching the show when it aired, I don't remember ever being able to identify with him. I always loved Jen and Jack the most. Joey seemed self-righteous and uptight to me. Pacey was always just there, you know? Now, as I re-watch it, I find myself Identifying with the completely opposite characters. Weird how that works.
I felt Dawson was unfair to Pacey regarding what went down between Joey, him and Pacey. Dawson was willing to rebuild his relationship with Joey, but he never let Pacey off the hook. He never really forgave him and as a result, their relationship was never the same. He acted that it was all Pacey's fault, he didn't want to seem to acknowledge that Joey had her part in all that happened. It seemed like convenient denial on Dawson's part - It was easier for him to believe that Pacey took advantage of her in her "vulnerable" state then to accept that she wanted Pacey more than him. I felt like if he was willing to forgive her, he should have forgiven Pacey too.
Season 3 is definitely the best season. It has 'The Longest Day' and 'Escape to Witch Island', and of course 'The Anti-Prom' which as far as I'm concerned, are all great episodes TV-wise.
Really, I love this show. I really do. It's sharp and smart with a lot of heart. But I'll stop blabbing, I want to hear what you all think.
What are everyone's favorite characters/season/'ships?
