Am I the only one who was a little freaked out by the crazy morbid sex/murder theme in Buffy's dream in "Dead Things"? I watched this ep last night and thought "Wow, that is really...creepy." LOL

I was watching that dream sequence going "WOW, someone had a really warped mind the day this was written... " The part where she's boinking Spike and about to get her big O and all of a sudden we see Katrina seeming to get a big O right before Buffy stakes her... Wow. CRAZINESS!

As someone reported elsewhere in their own review:

[from Dead Things]:

Warren: Tell me you love me.
Katrina: I love you, master.
---
Warren: Again.
Katrina: I love you, master.
Warren: I love you too baby. Get on your knees.

[from As You Were]:

Buffy: Tell me you love me.
Spike: I love you. You know I do.
Buffy: Tell me you want me.
Spike: I always want you. In point of fact, I-
Buffy: Shut up.

With the dream, there is no escaping the parallel. And so I wouldn't call it "creepy" but instead, "rather disturbing".

Yeah, for sure... I completely agree!
I watched this episode yesterday and didnt relise how dark and disturbing this episode was! You have the whole drugging katrina and Warren and the others all about to have their way with her and Warren murdering her when he could not get what he wanted and then theres Buffy and Spike firstly doing whatever in the bronze whilst watching her friends and then her beating the crap out of him!!

Its a pretty depressing episode!

I hate this ep partly because it is depressing and it shows you like Faith that by taking someones life can make you rather twisted and warped. Its almost like a thirst for power with Warren, Katrina was just trophy for him. Anyone who makes a pleasurebot is surely tainted by insanity.

I don't like the episode, because it really shows how cruel Warren is. I mean, the way he reacts, and the sickness in making Buffy believe she killed a person. It shakes her to the ground, and Warren just doesn't feel anything! It's SICK

The thing about this ep, is that it highlights just how depraved Warren actually is. Before this, we just thought he was some sad geek guy who had to make himself a girlfriend that leads to slightly humourous adventures, but this is the point where he becomes that guy we love to hate.
