It's widely believed- in error- that Santa travels the world delivering presents to good boys and girls. That is incorrect. He has help.

Next time someone is claiming Santa is a myth because he could not travel the world in one night, you can mention all of his helpers here:

Darn it. Even Santa's outsourcing to foreigners these days...
So Sweden gets Snap, Crackle and Pop? 😀

Iceland gets the worlds largest boy band.

I love the Catalonia one.

Also the Krampus also keeps the heads of bad children in a sack on his back. 😱

Merry Christmas!

Yeah, I'd better behave or they'll knock me out and burn down my farm.
After stealing all my porridge. 😛

Father Whipper.. my my...
Should have been Father Grey

I just could not get my head around the poo log

I wouldn't want my head anywhere near that either. :)

Of course, as always, Brasil/Portugal Portuguese is forgotten. 😡

Brazil: Papai Noel
Portugal: Pai Natal

Take it from the oldest member of the Boards, folks, you NEVER want to stop believing in Santa Claus, or even let others think that you no longer believe. Once you stop believing in Santa, the only gifts that you get for Christmas are the (shudder) practical things, like socks and underwear. Remember, SANTA BRINGS THE TOYS.

And the ties. Dear god the ties...

I want the poo log 'santa

Make your own!
Then alarm your friends by talking about the poo log that you have to beat to make presents.

Huh, most people in Germany probably have no idea who or what Krampus is. Krampus is more popular way down in the south and in Austria. We actually have Weihnachtsmann in Germany which literally means 'Christmas man'.

Oh, well, sorry, I missed that. I'm in a bad mood today. Anyway, several languages and no Portuguese.

I get it 🙂

Do you guys have anything except for Pai Natal by the way? Like those ones mentioned for Sweden are just an addition (or a pre-cursor depending on how you view it) to our "Tomten" (Santa Claus) who looks like the world wide one. Do you have anything like that as well?

My favorite Christmas visitor is not even from my own tradition. I love the Yule Cat of Iceland. It eats people (or their food) who haven't gotten new clothes by Christmas Eve. So... go get! Before the monstrous kitty gets ya! 😉

Sounds like a fishy, capitalist conspiricy. By cat-haters. :)

Only The Three Kings, but it's not like in Spain, it's just the day to take off the Christmas trees and decoration... It's just Papai Noel melting under our Summer sun.

aw, poor melting papai :)
Interesting that the Tomtenisse, among their punishments, will make a person dance until they are exhausted. Or maybe until they combust? I see shades of the demon Sweet here. After all, they can hit you, kill your livestock or burn down your farm. They might as well burn you as well.

Imagine that... a little army of Sweet's...
