That was hilarious!

Fred was outstanding! Word, dawg, bro; those parts couldn't have gotten any funnier. I was dying of laughter through the whole episode, but it managed to be very serious at the same time. IMO, this episode was amazing; a great start for a whole new season. Fred & Gunn worked very well together. The end part with Fred was mind-blowing. I saw part of that coming, but when she zapped Conner, I was blown away; in complete shock. When did she go & get all scary-tough?! I love it. I loved everything about this episode. The humor, the hallucinations😛, Fred, Gunn, just everything. Maybe not Wesley's actions with certain peoples (namely Lilah🙄 ).

God, was I not bored.😉
 
I liked it, too. It's probably one of the better season openers. One thing I didn't get was why Justine didn't just bash Wes over the head when she had the chance? It made me think she actually enjoys being a "slave".
 
It was great, I loved it too! When Fred zapped Connor I was shocked!😱 For a minuet I thought it was another hallucination, but Angel wasn't in it, it was so out of character for Fred. She's the sweet, innocent one who can barely kill a vamp. I love this new side of her!

Is it just me or did Connor adapt to this world really fast. He has been here for three months and he is acting like a real teenage boy. I mean, when did he start playing video games and using modern terms, I thought a guy from the 1800s raised him.
How old is Connor supposed to be anyway?😕

I am so happy that ::heart::Vinny::heart:: is a "credit character" now!😉

Well, her life certainly seems pretty meaningless without someone to run it for her. (I think Wes made a comment about her "choosing to be a slave or not" when he left chained to the fence.)

But I think he kept her handcuffed so that she didn't have many opportunities, and he clearly had a very good sense of what she was doing behind his back. ("I'll take away your bucket.") This seems to parallel how he knew she was following him after one of the times he visited Holtz in Season 3.
 
Fred was kind of scary there...I would watch my eye on her...though It was cool for Wesley to come through in the end...
 
I enjoyed seeing Fred "scary" for a moment there, but I'd call it more righteous anger. Here she's been doling out sympathy and compassion all summer for this poor "orphan", while she's been worried sick about Angel herself (*and* trying to fight demons at the same time). *Then* she finds out that the little punk not only knew where Angel was the whole time, but had set him up in a sadistic prison-for-life.

I mean, *really*. I personally would have gone for the nearest blunt instrument, but the electric-zapper was so much better in terms of poetic justice...
 
I was like wow, Fred's not even gonna give Angel the chance to kill him. That's one great advantage Conner's going to have over Angel. I don't think Angel will ever bring himself to killing Conner.

This episode was alot of Wesley. I'm not sure exactly, but I'm starting to maybe think there was more to him kidnapping Conner than we've seen so far. He may actually be trying to penetrate Wolfram & Hart afterall. BTW, how cool was that chair that decapitates? For some reason I saw that and was thinking of Dr. Evil hitting the button for the guy to fall into the firey pit. Good pay or not, I'd sure as hell not die for my law firm lol

Ok lets see.. what else? Justine? Ugh get rid of her or keep her in the closet with the bucket. I was seriously missing Cordelia already this episode. I hated her on Buffy but on Angel I'm a big fan, kinda funny how it works that way. So if she's that bored, I suspect she'll be back in some form or fashion soon.

I really look forward to next week, I'm assuming the beautiful girl kissing Angel in the episode trailor was Gwen. Guess we'll find out next Sunday. Also is seems Buffy and Angel are complete separate entities after this episode. Angel was missing all summer yet Fred and Gunn didn't even think about calling Buffy. Buffy obviously wasn't thinking much of Angel either, since she didn't manage to call and check up on him within the last year. I'd say any hope for B/A worshippers is over. Oh well, until next episode 🙂
 
This was a great season opener. I liked the dream that Angel was having in the beginning. It was so sweet. OMG!! I think that I went blind for a second when they showed Wesley and Lilah again in bed!! Ewwww!!!🙄 😛 😛 I'm really glad that Wesley found Angel and tried to nurse him back to health. Fred and Gunn do work well together. They are so silly!!😛 😛 It was a shock when Fred got scary tough and zapped Connor. I was like Woo hoo!!!😛 😛 I was not bored for one second with this episode.😀 😀
 
I really liked the episode. I loved the Wesley, he's so great. And he's not dead even though Chris is still dumb and trying to convince me he is. He does care though 🙁. And it's so weird how Lilah is seriously falling for him. His affairs with AI aren't as over as she thought. That was so cool him opening the door and there Justine is. And then Fred acting all unFred like, that was amazing. I'm like something is up when she came in there, and then wham. Never saw that coming out of the girl but I gotta give her props. Word 😉. The Fred and Gunn scenes were great too, they are so cute together. Loving the episode. Even though I thought the Buffy premiere was better.
 
i loved the ending it was really good. I like the fact that wesley saved him and let him feed off of him. I can't wait for next weeks episode that ought to be a really good one.
 
I loved the episode! It was great. Dark Wes is becoming a great character. (I laughed when I saw Justine for the first time)

That's the part I meant. She was coming up from behind him to smash him over the head. Why didn't she do it? I know what he said to her about the bucket. But she could have bashed Wesley over the head and thrown him overboard and she would have been free. She could have gone anywhere with that boat. That part just didn't make any sense to me. She had a way out, and she didn't take it. Which again makes me come to the conclusion that she likes being a slave.
 
I think she was still handcuffed to the rail of the boat when she went at Wes, so her movement was limited and surprise was critical.

And as I remember it, as Wes made the bucket threat he moved just out of range.

But the wanting to be a slave part... that may well be close to the truth.
 
Hmmm..Tyra, you may be right, but I could have sworn she had both hands on the wrench, high above her head. I didn't think she was still handcuffed, but you could be right. I guess I'll have to watch that scene again.
 
I loved Angel's lines in this episode, but my absoloute favourite part was in one of his hallucinations when he says "What? No hug?" It's was perfect. Shades of Angelus there, definetly. ^_^

Loved how Wesley was the one to rescue him. Kind of fitting. And I was humored by how Lilah killed her boss. "You went over my head?" *SWISH* "No, just under it, actually."

Fred, man, she creeped me out a bit when she was going all psycho on Conner. o.o But it was cute when she was trying to say "dawg" and that.
 
OMG, just got to watch it and it is a great season opener. I love the final scene, when Cordy says: Oh my god, I'm so bored. It is so Cordy in her old days! Can't wait for next week's treat
 
With the Wes and Justine thing: He knew what she was doing, she knew him well enough to know that his reflexes are still watcher reflexes. He knew she was coming at him, he could could have easily stopped her, and she knew it. there was no point. What was the bucket anyways? I got a chamber pot vibe. lol.

Angel: F*cking awesome speech at the end. I mean... it was rather... contrived. Had he spent all summer planning it out? But then end... "I love you Connor. Now get out of my house" perfect. I wonder what's going to happen there! And it was cool how his scars were healing... like when we first see him, they're on both sides of his face, but by the time he's with Connor, one side is healed. Or... they forgot. lol.

Wesley: What the HELL still with Lilah? Please god let that be a ploy to get inside info on Wolfram and Hart.. I loved his interactions with Justine though. at least, HIS side of them. And the feeding part, that was just cool.

Justine: Would some plese just KILL the woman already? I mean... how annoying can one character get? Although her in the closet with her bucket was hilarious. But she was so whiney... "They're all going to turn on you..." blah blah blah. Shut UP!

Gunn: Not much here. Obvious controversy between him and Connor, I think because Gunn is that "alpha male" but he KNOWS that Connor is stronger and more skillful.

Connor: I just wantd to slap that smirly grin off his face the enthre episode. I mean... I don't dislike him really, I know when everything gets normal I'll like his character, but God... that kids needs some serious slapping. Thank God Angel came round at the end and gave it to him!

Fred: I used to REALLY dislike Fred. She was whiney and annoying and her voice... ugh. And I hate the way she calls Gunn "Charles." It just sounds weird. But she showed some serious butt kicking in this ep. At the beginning, against those vamps, she kicked some ass. with Angel's wrist stakes? That was cool. And damn... when she went at Connor with the zapper... that was cool. "That's nothing compared to what you're going to suffer from what you did to your father." I was like... what? ZAP! Oh... kick ass Fred! And then later... when she went at him again... I mean, she was always the nice one.. caring, bring him balogne sandwiches without tomatoes and being understanding and all... I think she was perfectly justified in kicking his ass.

Lorne: When Wes was on the boat with Angel... Lorne was there. That WAS a hallucination, right? I mean, he said himself that he was... but it got a little confusing there.

Cordy: What a stupid ending to a great episode. It would have been better to just... I dunno, show her sitting on a cloud in angel gear with wings and saying her like. But what's with the whole stupid brightness thing? She appears in the sun? come on. stupid.

I think it was just in Justine's nature to *try* to be as violent as possible, whether there was any point to it or not. I seem to remember her and Holtz having "discussions" about it early in their relationship. (The bucket was *definitely* a chamber pot, I'd say.)

Wes and Lilah... No warm fuzzies there. Wes trying to infiltrate W&H is a distinct possibility. In any case, I think they're just using each other, for something/anything...

Lorne was definitely a hallucination. Fred talked to him on the phone in Las Vegas about the same time.
