I found it quite sad that River this genius, tormented character is unaware that brothers and sisters can't marry. Seeing such painful naivete from a grown woman mad me really pity her.

I always found it funny that Simon had more chemistry with River than with Kaylee.

After watching the episode I can see why they cut the scene, but it is really sad. Considering she knows all this stuff River is still just very child like.
