Seriously I need help, I am *still*T.T writing my dissertation... well I put it on hold for a while since I had finals, but now I have to finish it and my main problem is, since I put it on hold I can't really seem to get back 'into' it, the little writing that I have done utterly sucks to the point that I sometimes feel like deleting it all and on top of that I am having the worst writers block ever!

Does anyone know a cure for writers block? It would be much appreciated!

EDIT: see I forgot to add 'of' to my title... thats how much my writing sucks lately, I can't even finish a normal sentence *whimper and wallows in self pity*

I added an "of" to your title...so that's one less thing to worry about :)
What is your dissertation on? Perhaps a bit of reading around the subject may re-inspire you. It's certain that someone will have written something on the same topic...getting someone else's take on your subject might kickstart your creative urges 🙂

I always found that a bit of discipline and focus helped me in my studying...I mean that you should treat it as a job of work...clock on at 9am, immerse yourself in your work, coffee break at 10.30, start again at 10.45, lunch at 12.30, work from 1.30...and so on. Keep on going at it until something clicks into place. Make sure you remember to clock off though 🙂

Don't treat it like a real world job though...spending twenty minutes chatting about last night's TV, half an hour on t'internet when the phone goes quiet...other civil servants out there will know what I mean 😉

Yeah, that kind of structure is very benificial for studying and writing, I try to stick to it... I guess I should just try harder 😛 Discipline Raiys! Think Japanese!

Its just, when I start writing the sentences usually pour out, but when I get stuck and I start staring at a blank screen or notebook I get distracted... I space out or get online and hope that inspiration will come, but then it doesn't and I play forum games 🙂 But maybe next time I'll just grab my books and read up on my sources!

The subject of my dissertation is basically the Japanese idea of sex and sexuality and the way that this concept of sex(uality) is influenced and modified by history (chapter 1), the law (chapter 2) and society (chapter 3).
it needs to be at least 60 pages and I'm a little past halfway, my deadline is august 18th.

anyway, thanks Mr Pointy! Starting tomorrow I will bring structure to my days and try harder!
As for now I will read up and take notes.
Yo~sh! Ganbaranakya!

any other advice is still welcome oc 🙂
