"Devon" character (might contain spoilers for buffy #15)

hello everyone!
i'm new to this board - been reading for a while but never posted before.
i'm a buffy fan from israel.

reading buffy #15 gave me a weird feeling that devon, billy's watcher, is actually whistler in disguise. his use of the word "moxie" and lines like "i like you" and stuff - see A&F #13, page 15, where whistler says to lavinia "i like you, kid, you've got moxie".
and him being bold while training king arthur (A&F #15, page 9) - he usually wears a hat so we can't know his real haircut. maybe devon's blond hair is just a wig?

what do you say? looks possible?

I think the editors have said there would be no direct cross-over between the Buffy and Angel & Faith books this season.

I suspected at first he might be a vampire, but I guess that would be impossible. He couldn't pose as a high school student without having to be exposed to sunlight at some point.

He does talk a little bit like a young, gay version of Whistler... but I think it's just a coincidence.

I agree with [MENTION=4021]Andrew[/MENTION] Crossett - I think it's a coincidence. I was surprised how quickly Billy and Devon were accepted into Buffy's team, though.

I thought that maybe he was a vampire too. But obviously not. I still am not sure about him though. I think something is up besides the attraction to Billy.

Who is the guy with Buffy, Billy, and Devon at the end of #15? Is it the police officer? (I'm blanking on his name)

What is the point of Billy as a Slayer? We've been told since Episode 1, and even further back, in the original movie, that Slayers were ALWAYS girls. Now, suddenly, with no explanation whatsoever, amale Slayer pops up,and Buffy, once she meets him, says, "Okay, welcome to the team.Let's go stake some zompires." This is the girl who doubted that Dracula was for real just a few years ago, and now, suddenly, the idea of a male Slayer is the most acceptable thing in the world. I think maybe Buffy's been kicked in the head too many times.

And the art, as compared to the rest of the series, is terrible.

I don't think Billy is supposed to be a "Slayer" slayer - just a normal human who wants to help. That's what I got from the comic anyway.

Yeah, Billy is no more a Slayer than Robin was in season 7 -- he just decided that he wanted to be part of killing vampires, and he called himself a Slayer because he'd heard the term before. I'm kind of bothered by the fact that they seem to be using it as some sort of marketing thing that I don't understand, but he's not an actual Slayer and it doesn't have a negative effect on the book, really.
