Dexter one of the best series ever in my opinion

Dexter-not the cartoon!

After Buffy and Angel was stopped i was searching for quality series, twd is still my number one but i needed more, then i saw Dexter. I thought i was great and stll rewachtes the episodes sometimes....i liked the show still till today 10/10---> twd on one honorable mentions supernatural, ash vs evil dead, friends, sons of anarchy, farscape and from my yputh ateam/muppets/freggles/transformers/hulk/knight rider and mianimal

Dexter is great - up until a certain point. It has - and a number of people agree - one of the worst series finales ever made.
Despite the drop in quality in the later seasons, it is still a series I recommend people to watch.

I loved it so much, I ended up reading the books. It was funny, as I read them, I could hear Michael C Hall's voice as Dexter. He absolutely nailed the role, it was perfect casting.

And obviously as BTVS/AtS fans, it was great to see Julie Benz in the series!

As for Sons of Anarchy - same thing. Great show, last couple of seasons it went off the rails and lost its way. Also didn't like the increase in the gratuitous violence.

I agree that it was a great series, with one of TV's most complex and fascinating characters. I also agree, though, that the finale was a real disappointment. I did not like the "New Blood" sequel, and haven't watched the subsequent season.

I'll always have nostalgia for the original Dexter because it was very early on in the Premuim Cable era of TV, it started pretty close to the first season of Mad Men too. At its best for a brief time it was one of the hottest things on TV. My fave two seasons are 4 and 1. 2's also fun (partly because I love Doakes! 😊 ). 3's my least favourite of the first 4 seasons. 5's an underrated season which is probably my 3rd or 4th fave (its got Robocop as a sleazy ex-cop what's not to love!?😀). Seasons 6-8 are pretty much all trash sadly, I lost the will to live during that tedious Russian mob storyline🤣. And Quinn's one of my least favourite TV characters ever.

The revival series from what I've seen are hit and miss. I'm a bit of a defender of New Blood, as comebacks go its one of the more solid IMO ('waits for the hate'...😉). Some people hating on it are forgeting just how bad the show go originally. Only got one episode into Original Sin and it sucked balls! Resurrection S1 had is moments, and at least had a stellar cast. So pissed their bringing Quinn back in S2😱

After the shambles of the last season/finale, I remember a fan made a video on YT with their version of what should've happened. Unfortunately I can't find it now, but it was brilliantly done, and tied up everything perfectly.
