Dexter (Spoilers for Eps Already Screened in US)

Schillaci agrees: Oh ai, it was mesmerising, spellbinding. All that chocolate was just uhhym, yum! Was julie benz in this episode?? I never noticed..

How could you not notice Julie Benz?
Did you blink each of the 5 or 6 times she was on-screen?
Her in all her naked loveliness - how could you miss that?

Of course I get that you're being sarcastic hehe...
Dexter can only get better from here on in!

How could we miss Julie Benz. BTW, their scenes together were absolutely delightful.

Side note, I am now officially addicted to True Blood. I love the concept of the show. I was the additional features on demand and the writer of the show is brilliant.

Hi, my name is Airam and I am addicted to Dexter

Yeah I love it, its for sure one of the top 5 shows currently on air. I got into it S1, a friend told me about it and I spent the next two days watching it onDemand...now I don't have Showtime anymore so i have to be a tad more resourceful 😉 but I've never missed an episode. Sometimes while watching I'll catch myself thinking about how well Dexter and Darla would get on 😛 She'd turn him and they would be mates for life!

I am loving Dexter! I look forward to it every Sunday. We only just got it on free-to-air TV a few months ago here in Australia so we are horribly behind, but i haven't spoilt myself for what's going to happen even though it would be so easy to, but you know, I don't really want to with this one which is weird because generally speaking i do love a spoiler.

I saw the first ep of S3!!! Yay me! And it was made of awesome... SO GOOD... but now I have to wait an extra long time to watch the second one 🙁

Oh, just great, this series was two weeks ago première and since at same time "The Terminator: The Sarah..." and that i looked a bit oversexed was, I recorded that and not dexter... If I'd have known she plays in it -.-

I just came to conclusion I was mixing up Dexter with some other series, sorry for this post than. But I still do wanna see it! I mean now that I know it's about crime and all that and that she plays in it...

Wasnt it...!!! Just gotta wait till October now. Not sure bout Debs new haircut, but I'm sure ill get used to it.

Dexter is shown on a pay cable station only available in the US called Showtime. It sometimes takes years before such shows are syndicated to other countries. Even in Canada, it took over 2 years before the showtime series The Sopranos was syndicated to Canadian TV.

If memory serves,Dexter WILL be premiering its new season the same day it does stateside. Usually,The Movie Network(think HBO or Showtime, but in Canada)gets first shot at any show that either HBO or Showtime airs. And it usually airs the same time that it does in the U.S. for new episodes.

About The Sopranos: Dude...that was an HBO show. However,I think you're right in it taking two years before it got to BROADCAST TV on CTV(which put up warnings leading out of commercial breaks;this was-if memory serves-they were running it unedited(or with minimal editing). This is not the case with A & E's rerun package of the show, which had to be edited down.

Dexter is incredible, I didn't have any intention of watching it until I saw that Julie Benz was starring in the first season which made me tune in, and WOW. I'm so addicted now, got the first 2 seasons on DVD and am eagerly awaiting the rest of the third season!!

I like that thought quote from Dexter in the last ep, when he's strangling the child predator, "You don't hunt my cubs".

I question his strategy on marrying Rita though. Where will he keep his blood slides, and how will he explain his frequent evening prowls?

This season is starting to get interesting. Is he getting human, or still just trying to appear human? Either way, I don't think it'll work.

I think one of the things that makes Dexter so damn interesting is that he actually isn't a sociopath at all, maybe borderline, but not a sociopath. He doesn't just pretend to care about Deb, Rita and the kids he does actually care about them. Its why he killed you know who to protect Deb in S1 and you know who in S2 because of all little miss "pardon my tits" put Rita and the kids through, not just because she eventually committed murder, eventhough thats how he tried to rationalize it to himself. He does CARE. There are so many layers to him. He desperately wants to be a good father to his unborn kid, maybe give him or her the shot he didn't himself have, the shot Harry never allowed him to have. He wants to be "normal" he just doesn't understand why he can't quite get it right. And i do think its Harry's fault. Dexter is the victim of very unsual and disturbing childhood circumstances, it was confusing to him and he wasn't able to deal or channel his emotions correctly and to add to all that he had this nuisance of a so-called father buzzing in his ear to kill, kill, kill... bit ONLY the "right" people. Harry had his own agenda and totally bombarded it all over poor confused Dexter. I'm very inclined to believe that had Harry gotten Dexter help early on rather than train him to master his "tendencies", Dexter might have turned out very differently and hell, maybe even all the normal he so envies in others and dreams of being himself. Just my two cents. Also, GOD, I freaking LOVE this show!

I dont see how they can say it was Dexter inspired! For centuries writers have been doing what they write about for more realism. I mean, it's not like the guy ran out and killed a 'bad guy' (i could see that as Dexter-inspired) but he was a writer wanting to add realism to his manuscript. For pete's sake!

^ So, it's ok to murder then if it's to add realism to your work? I'll keep that in mind..
