Did Angelus Hurt Buffy or Giles More?

He hurt Buffy more emotionally. He hurt Giles more physically AND emotionally with the killing of Jenny.

I would have to say Buffy. Yes, Angelus did kill Jenny, and torture Giles, but think of how Buffy must have felt during that entire ordeal. It was because of her night with Angel that he experienced a moment of perfect happiness which led to Angelus being brought to the surface. So, I could see Buffy blaming herself for unleashing Angelus upon all of them.

After reading many of the posts, I'm going to go with Giles. His pain seemed to have lasted longer than Buffy's. I also agree with a few other people who said Buffy was able to differentiate between Angel and Angelus. She even says so in a number of episodes. Some of which were in seasons two and three.

I'd say Buffy. The guilt and hurt that Buffy must have felt must have been horrendous (not that Giles didnt suffer). Buffy is the Slayer she's meant to protect people, not only did her actions bring Angelus back but he killed people to torture her. All of Giles' pain was because of her and she cares about Giles like a father.

Buffy. Although he destroyed Giles at the time, the whole ordeal seemed to have a much longer impact on Buffy. You could argue that a lot of her issues in future seasons stemmed back to the Angel incident and she certainly found it harder to trust Spike because of the demon side to him (I personally think part of that at least was down to the Angelus/Angel soul differentiation).

Plus when you add on the guilt and pain and the fact that Jenny died pretty much because of her, that's a hell of a lot to bear as a 17 year old child (regardless of her slayer status). Giles did eventually move on and adapt, but Buffy seemed to have it shadow her for a lot longer.

(I wrote this a lot better before but the page went weird and it deleted it.)
