We know that Spike and Joyce loved watching Passions, but I'm curious. Did anyone else watch it? For me, I started watching about a year after its debut (in 2000) and continued watching it for a few years, and I actually loved it. I even remember the character of Timmy, lol! However, a few years later, college got in the way, so I lost track of it. I then kept up with it by reading summaries online until the series ended.

So, did anyone else watch Passions, and if so, did you like it? What were some of your favorite characters and storylines?

Hell and no. Hell no.

Couldn't avoid hearing about it, mainly because of 'Timmy' the doll / Pinocchio or whatever he was. He also played the Grinch as a child in the 2000 Jim Carrey movie.

The show made the headlines when not long after Timmy died, the actor himself died as well.

Lol, he was in that movie!
Haha, yes, I did. I liked Rebecca a lot, she was hilarious. The crazy storylines with Miguel-Charity-Kay-Jessica-Reese, etc. were so over the top I couldn't help but watch. There was a murder plot, wasn't there?

I know, right? The storylines got way to over-the-top, even for a soap opera, but you couldn't help but watch, lol! I liked Rebecca too, especially when she was up to her crazy schemes with Gwen. I also find it funny that some of the actors that use to be on it went on to better things. Like, the original Ethan went to be on Scrubs (he played Keith), the original Miguel (Jesse Metcalfe) has been on Desperate Housewives and in some movies, and the character of Fox went to be on Smallville (I think he plays the Green Arrow). Everytime I see them, I still think of them from Passions, lol!

Yes. Yes I did. I was still a kid, and I couldn't sleep because of that Hell in the closet. I loved Timmy. And I think no girl can forget the time when she first saw Jesse Metcalfe shirtless 😉 I think Charity was my fav!

Lol, I certainly didn't forget ;)
Ashamed to admit that I did. At first only because of Spike (and all the Buffy refrences), then got hooked for a while. I don't rememer much though, but I liked some plots quiete a bit. What was the name of that Hispanic girl who chased Eithan all the time? She was so stupid and I loved her for that!

Lol, no need to be ashamed 🙂 And that was Theresa who chased Ethan around. As crazy as she was, I still loved her too, lol. In the beginning, they were my favorite couple. Then, things just dragged on too much with "will they or won't they live happily ever after."

Unfortunately, I did watch for a little while. So glad I stopped though haha. It used to creep the hell out of me and I don't even know why. It's like watching General Hospital. I just can't do american soaps. Spanish ones, yes. American, no way.

When they started doing those storylines based on like "Psycho," and V for Vendetta," it did get a little weird for me too.

Passions was the one soap opera I watched, lol. Maybe because I liked the supernatural stuff mixed in. But, Spanish soap operas are fun to watch too, even though I don't know what they're saying 😉

I think I saw it once when I was channel flicking but I could be wrong. There was something about a talking doll? Is that why Spike likes it so much? Y'know for Drusilla talking Miss Edith.

I never watched Passions, hadn't even heard of it that much until I heard it mentioned on Buffy. I was always an ABC-soap gal. Loved GH!! I'm even old enough that I remember Luke & Laura! And yes, my aunt watches her novela nightly (she's from Puerto Rico), and my mom, who doesn't really know Spanish but is Italian so she can understand enough to be dangerous, parks herself right next to my aunt every single night. They're so funny to watch! 🙂

My mother still watches General Hospital. I think she's been watching it for more than 20 years.
