Did Buffy know what Faith went through?

Do you think Buffy knew what Faith was going through in "Faith, Hope, and Trick"? Didn't Buffy loose her Watcher to a vamp as well before she came to Sunnydale?

He was also shown in the Buffy origin comic book, and in the episode where Whistler first recruited Angel.

And, while Buffy might have been able to sympathize with Faith for their mutual experience in losing a Watcher,Faith saw her Watcher literally torn to pieces by Kokistos. She would have a hard time identifying with something like that.
 
I don't know if Buffy ever found out about Faith's watcher being killed. If she did, she may have been a little more sympathetic to Faith and her situation.

She did. Giles told her.
I don't think it's something that they ever talked about although they probably should have. But Faith's problems started way before that.

In the Origin comic Merrick killed himself to avoid being turned into a vampire, by in the movie wasn't be killed by a vampire?
