Did Buffy love Spike?

It also could've been that her being proud of Spike outweighed her sadness for it. Buffy knew going into the fight she was going to loose people. This wasn't something where as there could've been people were going to die no matter.

If you have an actual argument, besides superficial snappy comments, I'd love to hear it. 🙂 Xander was just as "ready to move" and "okay with it" as Buffy, by your interpretation of those terms, and you can't possibly argue that he wasn't in love with Anya.

We'll always have Joss's comment that Spike was "the most important man in her life", along with Angel, and that he instructed Sarah to "love him when she said she loved him". 🙂

You make it sound like Death isn't something Buffy has dealt with before? You're making it sound like Buffy said she loved him and went trottling off skipping away. Look at how the relationship between Spike and Buffy progressed not to mention Buffy as a character when she had to kill Angel. If she never truly loved Spike she would've staked him.

Another example would be when Xander finds out that Anya died he didn't go burst into tears that doesn't mean he wasn't sad either.

One could argue that Xander was still in love with Buffy. Did he ever seperate platonic love to romantic love when it came to her?

When did I say one is stronger than the other? I said that Buffy may have loved him as a friend, but she wasn't in love with him. I *never* said that she did love him.

I never said that you said she loved him. By your logic, Buffy didn't stake Spike because she loved him right? So why didn't she stake him in 'Fool for Love'?

Or that it doesn't make much sense to write Love Themes for strictly platonic relationships? Or that Spike is mentioned in the same breath as Angel when Joss talks about the "most important men in her life", or when Andrew talks about how "Buffy loves them both"? I could go on and on...

Yes and maybe Buffy loves him. Imo opinion she was not *in* love with him. We don't really have evidence to suggest so.

Preach sister! I think Spike and Buffy's relationship in season 7was, at times, beautiful. She loved him, alot, but I do not think she was in love with him. If she was I don't for a second believe she would have kissed and basked in Angelness or made him promises of a possible tomorrow where they are together. If Buffy was truly in love she would never had done that.
