Did Faith really have feelings for Angel?

At first it seemed that Faith only came on to Angel because of her and the Mayor's plan to take out his soul. But did she really had a thing for him? After Angel rejected her, she said: "She (Buffy) can have him", like she was a little hurt for being rejected. And Angel had showed Faith support and understanding that it really seemed like Faith wanted to be with him, if he weren't with Buffy. On the other hand, Faith is the kind of person who wants what she cannot have. And maybe she just did it to hurt Buffy.

What's your opinion?
 
I think she did. It really seemed to me like she felt something for him. I think that in some ways, she still does.
 
I think she just felt connected to him like that had something in common. They were both killers and outkasts and she could could relate and felt like perhaps he could help her get better or feel better. I don't think it was a romantic thing. The reason she was so hurt and it's the same as what someone else has already said is because once again she was rejected and abandoned and once again someone chose buffy over her. Making her feel even more dark and alone and clearly pushing her over the edge. I could be wrong though just a thought. I've never liked the idea of Faith & Angel

One needs a reference point to be able to judge. Since there was none - as Faith never had a lasting relationship on the show - I cannot even start to fathom. I always felt like she might have been leaning towards girls more than men, but she never got to explore that. All we could really see was that she was not respecting any of her sexual partners much and maybe not even liking to be with them - but was doing it to prove herself something else entirely. This kind of behavior often indicates latent frustration with sexual orientation. Or maybe she was really hurt as a girl and had that latent PTSD with men.

No, I think she just had issues with rejection anyway and didn't like that Buffy got everything, whereas she didn't.
 
I think they had more of a 'Brother/Sister' bond than anything else. She says to Wesley in AtS that Angel is the only person in her life that hasn't giving up on her and she won't give up on him (when he's Angelus). And in Orpheus, Angel gives her the "be strong" pep talk.

So i think all in all they both had feelings for each other, but they were no more than that of two good friends who would pretty much die for each other if it came down to it.

I agree with this. At that point, I think she mainly wanted to be with him because she wanted to get back at Buffy by showing her that Angel chose her, but really I think the connection was more about the things they could relate to about each other.

I think angel and faith's relationship evolves tremendously throughout the series, but the question taken right at this particular moment, I would answer, no she did not have feelings for him, I think her motivation was to have the one man buffy wanted most in the world - want her more.
 
I don't believe Faith ever wanted Angel in a romantic way. When she was pursuing him, she wanted him simply to take him from Buffy. When she was rejected, she was hurt simply because she was rejected and because he chose Buffy over her.

In a general sense, I feel like Angel and Faith were kindred spirits: they both went down a dark path and are trying to fight their way back to the light and make retributions. This seems to have cemented their friendship and forged a bond between them, but not attraction or romantic feelings.
 
I don't think Faith ever had any romantic feelings for Angel it was more like yet something else that was buffy's she wanted/thinks she's entitled of. She made remarks more than once making clear, I think, how she felt about it;

in end of days when Buffy lets her hold the seize she says something like its feels like its hers (faith) which probably means it's Buffy's. And in enemies she says something like Buffy got it all; the mom, the friends, the watcher.

I definitely think this is a big factor: Faith just wants what is Buffy's.

yeah, I pretty much feel the same way...
I think at that point it was about power; about knowing that she could take him away from Buffy. That she could be considered "just as good" or "better" than Buffy for once. To win over the guy who was in love with the woman to which she was always compared. That, to her, would have been a huge accomplishment and a self affirmation which is what she was constantly seeking out, sadly.

Plus, I mean, he was hot.
 
Yes. She loved him. She loved Buffy. She loved them all. Just was just scared to let them know it so she tried to destroy them before they could distroy her. She didn't want to love Angelus, she tryed to steal Angel away for herself, but in the form of Angelus. That way she could have him and keep him and love him, but she never could, because she loved Angel. She wasn't heartless she was just broken. And she liked to break the things around her to make them like her.
 
I don't think she had feelings for him. Like others have said, it was just someone she related to who chose Buffy over her. But I think it was fairly obvious she didn't have romantic feeling for Angel after she woke from her coma, switched bodies with Buffy, then went straight for Riley. It was always about Buffy. (Up until a bit later) At least that's how I saw it.
 
I don't think so, I believe they connected so well because they had so much in common, both characters knew how it felt to do terrible things and then want to make things right. They had a beautiful friendship in the show, but I don't see a romance

I'm with the majority, I believe they had a connection because they have a lot of things in common but that there wasn't really any romance there. [MENTION=11367]Tammy[/MENTION] was right on with all that she said 🙂

But I do also feel that Faith had a very complex relationship to men in general and that it's hard to judge whether or not her feelings for Angel were real or not because she seemed kind of willing (semi-desperate) to connect with just about anyone at this point.

I was thinking along similar lines. I think she was attracted to the idea of Angel, almost. She craved the love, protection and care that Angel felt towards Buffy. I think she wanted someone to do that for her and want to do it for her.

I'd also agree that the "she can have him" line came out of her general feelings of rejection and the tone with which it is said is a way of kind of concealing her need for those feelings I said above.

I've never seen any romance between them. Chemistry, yes, but not lovey dovey feelings. They're friendship is one of my favourites because its incredibly genuine and honest and that was ultimately what Faith needed and craved during that Season 3 period, but it wasn't until later that she could recognise that.

I think it was a mixture of her plan failing, Angel choosing Buffy, and being rejected that made her feel that way. I don't think she actually had feelings for him.
 
I dont think Faith had romantic feelings for Angel. I think it was purely her jealousy of Buffy that made her want Angel. It was Faith's need of having Buffy's ''perfect life''.
 
I agree with Jules, I do not think Faith had feelings for Angel in season 3 at all I think she only wanted Angel/Angelus to annoy and hurt Buffy, Faith was jealous of Buffy's family, friends, watcher and love life. She already attacked her friends and the one thing that keeps Buffy strong and still standing is her friends and Angel, Faith knew how Buffy felt when she killed Angel and lost Angel to Angelus so she knew that was Buffy's weakness and tried to take him. When she said "You can have him" I think she meant like I never needed him in the first place I can still destory you both kind of thing.

But I do think Faith see's Angel as brother/friend as he helped her in Angel and she helped him when he was Angelus. But a tiny bit of me thinks she liked the idea of him and her together as she says to Buffy in season 4 something like you got a new guy or soemthing. But I deffo think she just wanted to hurt and make Buffy weak, to be fair if Angel did turn into Angelus, Angelus wouldn't loved Faith he would just tried to kill her.
