Did Illyria love Wesley

Simple. Did she love him or was she just affected by turning into Fred for him or what

Note: Interstingly, when she first appeared in the show she complained about his grieving, now she's going through it herself.
 
I think Illyria herself (or was it itself?) didn't love Wesley, but when she turned into her vessel Fred's emotions channeled through her as well? I think I remember she still has Fred's memories and such, so maybe her feelings as well? Thus resulting in channeling the love?

Did I make any sense? 😛
 
I believe it was mostly Freds memories. However the fact that she was becoming more human (I mean feelings and such. I cant think of the word I want at the moment) she was starting to feel the feelings herself. But it wasnt love. It was most likely just friendship but she wasnt used to the feelings yet.

I know what Im trying to say but for some reason my brains not working tonight and I cant say what I mean. Do you get it?

I think I get what you're saying. You're saying Illyria is influenced - Illyria might say infected - by Fred's compassion, right? She also adopts the Fred persona to appease Fred's parents.
 
Illyria's 'love' for Wesley was that akin to a humans 'love' of a family pet by the end.
We have to remember who Illyria is/was. I have no doubt in my mind that the stored memory of Fred, as her last emotions before death were strong ones for Wesley, influenced her to a degree, but not love.
Illyria was a great character BUT in my honest opinion, should have been dropped when it was decided season 5 was the last.
She was a God amongst God's yet in the space of 5/6 episodes they turned her into something else.
If you actually look at her characters development and try to compare it(best you can) with a real world kind of thing, you do get the impression it was hugely rushed.
I like Illyria, I would have loved to see a season 6 with her fighting who she was and who she is, but the end of season 5 is a little too 'cosy' for me.
 
I think Illyria was never evil as such, she was ammoral. But being drained of her poers and in a human body basically exposed her to humanity. I'm not sure if she viewed Wesley as apet, but at least as something worth keeping alive. Also, she seemed kind kf bothered thathe didn't ask her to turn into Fred, during the last day. In the end, she was leaning towards being a good guy, but not a good good guy

Boy, talking about Illyria leads to much confusion.
 
This is one of those topics that on the surface seems a bit silly but when you scratch underneath.. nope, still silly.

Illyria is a god. We do not fall victim to such primitive concepts like love. We are above such silly conditions. Satisfying our own egos is all we need.

Obviously if Illyria was greiving for Wesley it is because Joss whedon has delusions of self importance and he was making some sweeping comment about humanity akin to Anya's speech to Andrew when they're in the hospital.

Some residual part of Fred was grieving for Wesley. Illyria just wanted to get into a fight. The important factor is the blue bus, it is calling us. It tells us the snake is long, seven miles. Illyria god king of the primordium would not grieve for the end of laughter and soft lies.

The one overriding factor of humanity is the craving of power, not this silly thing that JW makes allusions to.

Driver, where you taking us?
 
I believe that Illyria was deeply affected by a human's darkness but I am in doubt as to think she (or he) really gave a thought to distinguish who was who, but she (or he) marked Wesley as a character which is a proof that she (or he) in a sense cared for him, not a care for the loved ones, but a care in a sense of attentive observation. But love? It is too far-fetched.
