Did it break your heart?

This is most of the all for Bangelers, because for someone else this episode is not painful. I like every season finale, I like this one also, but it did break my heart. At one point I really thought Angel would just disapear, but then there he was, standing and just looking at her. He said he's not going to said goodbye, he didn't, he just stand there and look at her, she did the same. I always thought he never said goodbye, because if he did that would be really the end. And we all know the Bangel end is not even close. When I watch this episode, I can't stop crying on the end, and I know what is going to happen. So all you Bangelers out there ( all other can join) did you cried a lot, a little, or you were just "Oh, it's over"?

You don't have to be into Bangel to get your heart broken by those two 😉 You just have to have a strong love for the characters and then you feel so sorry for them it's painful.

I'm not a Buffy/Angel shipper, but, yes, the end of this does make me sad because I can appreciate what they're going through. I wouldn't say it breaks my heart though (now The Prom, Innocence, Becoming Pt.2, and I Will Remember You are another story...).

Hey I'm a Spuffster and this pulled at my heart strings. Buffy is our main character and when her heart breaks my heart breaks 🙁

Ditto! I was really sad when Riley flew off in season 5 too. What makes Buffy sad makes me sad.
I know that you don't have to be a Bangel shiper, but I just think it's more painful for us to see our favourite couple breaking. And don't me get started on the other episodes 😉

so sad!he looks at her...then he walks away and she knows she can't do anything to bring him back...!oh don't get me started!i will need tons of tissues!

I think that the end of the episode was so sad, not only because it was the end of Buffy and Angel but it was sad to watch. Because you saw the main character's heart break, watching the person she loved walk away and not be able to stop it. The whole ending of them I think was just sad.

Awesome banner!
I agree with you. I'm watching the end of this episode almost every day, what can I say, I'm addicted, and the more I watch it, the more it hurts. They are just standing there, and I think just go there, just kiss him and tell him that he can't leave. Do anything, just don't stand there.

And I love your banner 😉

I wanted a goodbye, just because I love those tragic scenes. If Joss makes me cry, I love him that much more 😛 But, I do like your point about how if they said goodbye it meant it really would have been the end. And, we all know Bangel will NEVER end because their love is eternal 😀

It was a sad episode. I do like it though, it's my 3rd favorite season finale. The beginning was amazing, especially where Angel drank from her. It's just a very... enticing scene 😉

Nice sig!
At this point in the series, I guess you could say that I was all about some Bangel. I was definitely sad for Angel to go, but I felt like he needed to for Buffy to progress (both the show and the character, haha.)

I was glad they did it the way they did. I hate the tragic, sad scenes. They don't make me cry; they annoy me. Having him just look at her and walk away was WAY more sad than if they'd been all crying and saying goodbye. To me, that is. 🙂 I'm glad Angel left, because I like Buffy a lot better when she's not with him. She really seemed to find herself after he was gone. Teenage girls really do seem to lose themselves in their first loves a lot of the time, and it was a good way to make that stop before it got too irritating. Also, it gave us Angel in his own show, which was great. 🙂

I wasn't heartbroken per se. I just kept waiting for Angel to start walking towards her, I was convinced he would that!

The scene is sad but it doesn't really make me sad. My Bangel mantra of "It's not over. It's never over" just kinda had me thinking that "Ok, this is the start of the road that leads back to each other".

It was a pretty sad scene, but now when I watch it I'm kinda glad cos it means Angel is away to star in his own show. 😀

Well it was sort of sad, but honestly, what was sad about it was the music, not really the scene per se.

Then again, I'm not a Bangel 😛

Also, it was pretty obvious that such a scene was coming (well they were broken up already), so it was kinda too expected to really be heartbreaking.

To be honest, I never really liked Angel(not Angelus) in BtVS. I thought he was mostly boring and just in the background for a lot of episodes.

So even though the scene where he break up with her was really sad(again mostly because of Buffy's reaction), the 'good-bye' in the last episode didn't touch me as much.

On the other hand, Angel on his own series is a world of difference... he actually started to be a whole character, showing that he could be more than just background character and love interest for Buffy. He was much more funny than in BtVS. Also the way he was the main character and had friends around him, made us discover more sides of him.

It was never my favorite character on either show, but he was much better on AtS, and I would have liked to see the Angel from AtS with Buffy from the last seasons. They seemed more mature and complete(as characters).

As for the reason they break up, I never really agreed with it. Sure, Buffy couldn't make love to him or have childrens, and he was a vampire so he couldn't go out during the day. But things changes, and Buffy was not a normal girl. She wasn't gonna be having any kind of normal jobs or life.

And from what we saw later on in each series, things could have worked out in the future.

But I guess Joss never liked couples to stay long together. Also there was talk of an Angel spin-off, so others things came into play.

I cried a lot. Which kinda made me feel a little rediculous shortly after the waterworks stopped. ~lol~
But both my mom and I thought it was one of the saddest moments. I liked the overall way the scene was done.

I have never had any objection to the Bangel relationship during its time (from Season 1 through Season 3) and the end of a love affair is always a sad thing. Even a cynical old die hard Spuffy like me can sense the sorrow and pain there.

This is a trap! Don't believe him gang He is trying to lure unsuspecting Bangels into a false sense of security and then BAM! He'll go Spuffy Scientology on your arse! Don't believe a word he says!
i was so sad but i didnt cry for some reason lol. i cried more in becoming pt.2. wait no actually i cried the most in i will remember you

i liked how that last scene when he left, buffy and angel didnt say anything to each other. just the looks on their faces said it all. nicely done on sarah and davids part.
