I have been curious if he had a plan for a tv season eight? If Sarah would have continued would he have? Or did he plan to end it at season seven?

I'm pretty sure Joss never planned on a televised season eight of Buffy. Season six of Angel, yes, but Buffy was done as far as the series was concerned.

I tend to think that season eight would have been very different had it gone ahead on tv anyway. For a start it wouldn't have skipped a year. Technically the comics are covering what would have been season nine.

I plan on ordering them. I am sure there good. I would still love to see the actors back in some kind of Buffy movie or something. Who knows what the future holds. It could possibly happen. Most likely won't but I can dream can't I?

Well actually if Buffy was still on television right now we would be in Season 11 right now, but yeah Joss had always planned on having the show end after Season Seven, all the actors signed contracts up to seven seasons. The network (UPN) wanted them to continue since they just got the show, but eh, Sarah said she didn't want to go on after season seven and Emma said the same thing. But like someone else said he didn't expect Angel to be cancelled, he planned on a Season Six.

I seem to remember that Sarah's unwillingness to continue was just a coincidence, and that Joss had an endgame in mind going in. I think Sarah quitting was really just the final nail in the coffin, so to speak.

Yep I think if Sarah would have signed on for eight, they would have probably made the fight with the First to expand over another season possibly.

It would've been interesting, though, for us Buffy/Spike people, to see a Season 8 where Spike didn't burn up, or where he "un-dusted" on "Buffy" instead of "Angel," just to see where Whedon & Co. would've taken their relationship, not to mention the Faith/Robin and Willow/Kennedy pair ups, and how Xander dealt with the loss of Anya. I keep hoping there will be at least a few flashbacks in the comic book series to address a few of those points.

I would have liked more buffy and angel. I wonder tho, are the fan numbers dwindling too much to bring a movie out? I mean, I want one of course and I would see it everyday it was in theaters, but who else would? There are so few posts around here these days, it scares me.

I would most certainly go to a movie featuring either Buffy, Angel, Spike, Faith, or any of the other characters, but I seriously doubt that one will be forthcoming anytime in the near future. Whedon's just too involved with other projects right now. By the time he does get back to the Buffyverse, I seriously doubt if any of the actors will be either interested in or available for anything more than a cameo, so plan on a whole group of new characters.
