Did Whedon and co ever try to do a follow up movie?

In the years following the TV finale, did Whedon and the original cast ever discuss doing any sort of follow up/reunion movie? Like a TV movie of the week sort of deal, or something along those lines?
 
No.

It was mostly SMG's decision to end the show; she didn't want to play the part anymore, so I doubt she would have agreed to any movies or anything like that. With the network's cancellation of AtS (through nothing more than spite, it seems) it would be unlikely that they would have given the go ahead for any movies.

Hence, the comics.
