Did Whedon End Buffy? Will He Cancel Angel?

All fans believes that Buffy ended because of Smg`s decision. But now, new information has come out...and Whedon perhaps may also end Angel.

Whedon seems to achieved that to some degree and is relieved that, thanks to renewal, no one will show up to the set of Angel and say "stop filming that now," but one day that phrase may well be spoken, and possibly by Whedon himself.

"It could happen," said Whedon. "I did that on Buffy. I was definitely done after seven years. A lot of people attribute that to [Sarah Michelle Gellar], but after seven years I was burnt out. I was just really worn down as we came into the seventh season. Of course we tried hard to make it great, but seven years is a long time and I was tired. Now were in the fifth year of Angel and I'm in a situation where we've gotten to the hundredth episode and I feel like the show has...found it's place in the world."

I'm not suprised, but maybe running three shows did wear him down quickly. Hes gone from 3 to 1 in a year, but he seems to have too much on his plate. As said, it will be about 10 years before the network says "Cancel Angel" so Whedon may have to cancel it himself, which is a shame. Lets hope SMG will turn up for the end of S5 if it is the last.
 
Screw that! If he ends it after THIS season...whoa-ho-ho! This had just better not happen...::devil::...::cd::
 
Somehow, I don't really believe the source from the first post. It's seems not-genius-like.
 
I don't really think that he's gonna cancel Angel after this season.
 
If this is true, I really can't beleive that Joss would do that b/c obviously his other series haven't done as well as Btvs and ats, so this is a great $ maker for him. I can't understand why he would wanna end Angel right after Buffy. This is really interesting info.
 
Well this isnt a surprise to me seeing as I knew that Joss was also the other major part that ended Buffy.

Angel will have to go one year, if Joss Wheadon thinks that he cant take the show anywhere else he will want to leave being Exec.Producer and they would have to hire someone new if they want the show to go on(he said that even if SMG renewed her contract he wouldve left). And the fact that one day David Boreanaz will want to leave the show aswell. But I think he wont end the show for atleast 2 more years.
 
There's this Quicktime video that's going around. Joss says that Angel could go for another 100 episodes, and he would still have stories to tell. Let's not worry.
 
It happens all the time, rumours fly around. Sometimes they are true, sometimes there not, this is the case with this. I personally see it as a rumour, no way would Joss throw away his last opportunity to go further!
