I think Xander made the very wrong decision. If he would have told Buffy that Willow was going to do the spell, she would have had more strength to hold him off for just a little bit longer, but because she assumed she was just going to kill him she dind't care how long it took. then angel would have never had to go to tell and buffy would have never had to run away.

I think he def did NOT make the right decision. i loved xander until this point-i was absolutly furious that he did that. Well if xander ever thought he'd have buffy after that he was dead wrong (she may not have fully known the details, but karmically i mean) at least this kinda bites him in the ass in s7. ::grrr::

if buffy found out he lied like shortly after he said that, she probobly would have kicked his ass 3 ways from sunday 😛

i agree. i loved when willow said "i did not say that" cuz Xander was caught on his lie. it was a STUPID decision, and props to Drew Goddard for bringing that back.

No, I was so mad at Xander for telling Buffy that. She may have been able to stall him so he couldn't have opened Acathla, then Willow would have been able to give Angel his soul back and he wouldn't have had to go to Hell, and Buffy wouldn't have left town. It would have been a happy ending for Season 2...lol.

I dont think he did. But he could have. Bc if he told her about Willow, she might have waited and the world might be sucked into hell. I dont think he did. Then maybe Buffy wouldnt have felt so alone.

when xander is yelling at her for leaving town in dead mans party, i just want to yell at him and say it wouldn;t have happened if you weren't such a jealous idiot!!! grr

I don't think he made the decision with Buffy at the forefront of his mind-- well, at least, not in the right way. I think he had his own selfish intentions in mind, and having to make a hard decision that Buffy couldn't make was just an added bonus. Although I don't think it was anybody else's place but Buffy's to have made a decision like that, but that's a different story.

I love Xander. I really do. I just think he can be incredibly selfish at times, and this was a perfect example of that. The End.

i love xander but that episode i wanted beat the bejesus out of him. it was so selfish and i couldnt believe it when he said that to her. if he had of told the truth then none of the blood and tears would have happened at the end. ::grrr::

I would say no. I think that he should have told Buffy. He might not want to but it's his responablility as a friend to tell her. I was close on hitting the screen when I saw it

I don't think Xander made the right decision...and he could have saved Buffy from the pain of losing Angel by telling her the truth...but he chose not to!! It made me hate him a little!

I love Xander, and even I didn't think he made the right decision. He should have told Buffy- that way she could have tried to delay. But either was, she still would have ended up having to kill Angel. And Xander wasn't to know the consequences of his actions- he never told her cos he hated Angel anyways.
