There are definitely more movies I would put on that list before some of those named but I think The Never Ending Story and the dog in I Am Legend got me the hardest. But Disney can be incredibly dark and depressing on occasion...which I have to respect them for. Even if I did fall asleep during Bambi...

I don't remember if I cried...but I think it's ridiculous not to let children watch it.

During my 6th grade year, my teacher read us Where the Red Fern Grows, and all of us sobbed like, well, 6th graders. And I tear up every time Artax sinks into the swamp. AND I refuse to watch Milo and Otis because I cry every time (seriously, camera guy! Go wade out into the river and get the poor kitty off the log! WTF?!).

But I don't think we should wrap kids in cotton wool, as DoI said. These books and movies are a safe way to learn about the world and the facts of life (the facts of life . . . oh, great, now it's stuck in my head).
