Did you like Connor?

No, I hated Connor, at least until Season 5. I really liked him in Season 5, but thats cus he knew the truth and was not some stubborn little brat who had a grudge against his father, for no reason. Angel did everything he could to protect him and tried to take care of him after he came back, but nooooooo, Connor had to be a little Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep!!! Yah I really really hated him in season 4, but he was cool in season 5. I really like him there, when he finally told Angel he understood, and worked with him, and finally got the big picture.

No I didn't like Connor, i just found him annoying and his character didn't grow on me at all! I just thought his character was so... BLAH!
 
I liked conner in season five but not in season four he was just plain dumb beleiving cordy(evil Cordy), and annoying.(Love is blind in this case)
But i did feel for him at the end of season four, he was so messed up and empty, i was glad Angel altered his memories ,he had a chance to live a normal life.
 
I didn't like Connor...he drove me insane! At least the first time around. I still don't like him but he doesn't bug me that much.

I won't screw with your reputation for this, but damn! 'for no reason'? Maybe he was in a shitty mood because he'd been forced to live in an unspeakable hell for eighteen years. No, that couldn't be it.
 
i really must join the ranks of the connor-not-likers. no offense to those of you who like him, but he was my least favorite character in the series and i really didnt like him!
 
He really did get on my nerves most of the time. He could never figure out what side he was one--one moment, he'd be against Angel and the next, he'd be with them. A lot of the times he came off as a brat to me.

But I guess it's understandable given the circumstances of his childhood. So I don't know if I really hate him because of who he was. He certainly added some interesting tension to the episodes he was in and I have to say that, at times, I could feel his pain.

He wasn't the greatest character ever introduced but...he was okay.
 
I didn't like Connor at all in season 4. In fact I found myself thinking that they should have just shipped him and Dawn off to some remote island so they could spend the rest of their lives together in perfect harmony screaming "You never loved me!!" and "Get out get out get out!!" at each other until the end of time.

I can understand that he would be tremendously upset about growing up in a hell dimension but that didn't mean he had to treat Angel like a piece of crap. Angel was offering him love and comfort and you'd think that he'd be happy about it.

It was the same old attitude with Dawn (but different situation).

I don't know about anyone else but I have no patience for people using things that have happened to them as an excuse to act like a little brat. Everyone goes through stuff....boo hoo....deal with it.

Not trying to sound harsh but....that's just how I feel.

I did however like Connor a lot in Season 5 when he finally grew up and acted like an adult.
 
Totally agree with you there Kimm. I really hated Connor in Season 4, and if I could have done I would have taken him and dawn and sent them to remote island, where they have monsters and polar bears and where people kidnap children! Anyone know of an island like this?:jesterlaf

Anyway. I hated him even more at the end of Season 3 when he put Angel in that big thing and dropped him in the ocean. I think that boded badly for him in my opinion, because from then on I hated him! I never really got back the feeling of liking him. I didn like him in his one appearence in Season 5 however but I still didn't trust him.

Ugh.. Your understanding of the show is so awesome.

How he was introduced to the show was damn clunky storytelling, but his character was brilliant for Angel. Hell, Connor was picked on before he was born, why do people piss and moan about him being a little cranky?? Do people not like Connor because he is too relatable?
 
Do people even remember who Connor was trapped in Hell with.....Holtz.
For 15 years he was told how Angelus and Darla had killed maliciously Holtz family.
Then, as far as Connor is concerned, When Holtz tells Connor to be with his 'biological' father, it appears Angel kills Holtz.
Add further more that when Angel comes back, he banishes his son(with reason, but thats not how Connor sees it).....THEN Cordelia/Jasmine mind f**ks the poor guy....

Add all that together including self loathing and uncertainty and you all still complain over him because he was undecisive......
Jesus T*ttyf**king Christ, if any character does have a right to have complaints its Connor........i think his character was perfectly done for the show.

haha...Do I like Connor? I think one word will answer that question nicely. No.

I'm not arguing that he didn't go through some horrible things....or even that he didn't have a right to be angry or upset about things. I'm just saying that I didn't think he handled it very well and didn't like his character. That said, I do think that his character was an integral part of the show....I just didn't like his attitude is all.

Oh, and I'm sick of hearing this, "its my opinion" crap. It sounds like whining to me. Difference of opinion is one thing, Ats is created so that there are different ways to interpret certain aspects of it. I'm fine with that. Misinterpreting what is shown to you annoys me though. "I hated connor because the way he treated his dad", is a crap excuse. To me, it indicates that a person is not even trying to understand the reasons the character is acting the way they are. Sure, to the viewer, because we know Angel is a hero and loves his son, its unfair. Connor doesn't. His story was perfect. Tragic from the moment he was born.

Oh, and if you think my previous post was childish, pray you ain't around when I've had a bad day at the race track. 😉
 
Maybe Connor did have reason to act like a brat, it doesn't mean someone isn't allowed to like him because of it. I feel he went through more than enough to validate his actions, but I still don't like him at all.

Ummm....I'm not sure where you live but here in North America people are entitled to their opinions. It's not crap. Time to get off your high horse there.

You're not making any kind of convincing argument. Saying that I didn't like how Connor acted is not a misinterpretation of what is shown to me. I understand that Connor went through some terrible things (scroll up...I said that already)....but that's not a license to act like a prick in my opinion.

In case you weren't aware...intellectual masterbation will make your brain hairy. :rolleyes0
