Did you like Connor?

Well, while the basic idea was sound, I never felt Connor put forward anything particularly interesting. With a bit more effort, the combination of his traumatic childhood and relationship with his father could have made a very intriguing character. But I think he was handled in a way that simplke led to your basic loner type who goes kinda crazy in the end. I see him as athe culmination of the Holtz story lline, which I always found kind of weak.
 
I want to defend Connor, but I'm not really sure how. It seems, to me, that people didn't like the character because he was so realistic. I guess since its a fantasy show people wanted Connor to walk through walls and fly like superman. Its obvious Vincent did a stellar job as Connor.

I agree in part BUT another reason I've fond people hating Connor is because he 'took Cordelia away from Angel'.
Anyone who has that as a reason, I must say, is a complete moron.
 
okay that is 'one' of the reasons i dont like connor.. does that me me a moron alister? 🙁 i just dont like his character.... he annoyed me

Pretty much agreed. Connor was exactly what you would expect him to be, given the circumstances of his childhood. To defend him is pointless because ultimately the kid was very unlikeable, but then he was meant to be.

Good character though.
 
I think anyone raised by Holtz, in some god forsaken dimension, is going to grow up with one hell of a grudge against demons, including his 'blood' father. So it was no surprise to me that Connor behaved how he did. Why would he disregard everything that Holtz had told him over the years, and suddenly believe what these strangers where telling him.

I think I only disliked him, because as a viewer, I had the advantage of knowing what really happened. At the end of the day Connor had been raised by Holtz, and he was the only father he'd ever known, so he was bound to favour him over Angel.

That's what I found so annoying, I wanted to shout at Connor, 'can't you see you've been lied to, can't you see Angel is not the bad guy here'

I guess that means that Vincent played the part well though, because I did really dislike him, but then in Season 5, when his past had been erased and replaced with a different one, a 'normal' one, he was really likeable. If he had been like that in Season 4, then I feel it would of been out of place. Season 4 Connor needed to be this angry, confused, and lonely kid.

I like Connor but he is my least favorite major character in the Angel series, I think he was much better in the beginning and towards the end when Cordelia started showing her pregnancy and Jasmine....They did redeem him in season 5 though
 
I'm a Connor fan. I love when he's fighting the vampires who come because the sun is gone and he's like "Pfft, tourists." I could understand why he acted the way he did, Vincent did a good job with the character as well. I love how you see his expression change in season 5 when his memories come back, and it's like he's Connor season 4 suddenly.
 
i thought connor was a good addition to the story, but he was reeeeeeeally stupid. what with believing cordy and all for quite a while. i thought eventually he'd catch on and he did for a split second but then lost it :/
 
i felt bad for connor. he had a crappy life, and everyone seemed to be lying to him all the time. he was kinda stupid for beleiving cordy/jasmine, but he explains why he did in "peace out". I liked him a lot in season five, though.
 
Noooooo. Couldn't stand him. He could have tried harder to understand things, get to know his dad. But he was too busy being selfish. But I did like baby connor, what a cutie pie.

Favourite Connor was Season 5 Connor - I can't believe he came back to stand by his Dad against Hamilton.

I loved that line of his, too, "you stop by for a coffee and the world's NOT ending? C'mon....." LMAO!
I didn't like his character at all in Season 4 he was really annoying he got on my nerves all the time. One time my older sister spit on the TV because he made her so angry. LOL
 
I loved Connor, especially in seasons 3 and 4. Possibly my favourite Angel character ever. What I liked about him was that he was such a well developed character and that everything he did was something a real person would probably do in those situations.

His character's actions and arc were not similiar to Dawn, but moreso to Faith. The interesting thing is, I think Connor's story was more well done and I found the character of Faith more annoying.
 
I loved Connor, at all points. From super bad ass Destroyer!Connor when he first showed up to "You show up for a cup of coffee, and the world's not ending?" He is one of the more interesting characters on either show.

The only thing that really got on my nerves was his incessant need to tell us how much he hates magic.
 
So do I like Conner? Which one?!

I think that there are 2 Conners:

1.Misled Conner
2.Happy Conner

I hated when Conner came back and was mean to poor Angel. I really wanted them to have a good father-son relationship. However, after thinking about it I thought it was unfair to dislike this character based on that because his whole life he was taught to hate Angel.

But I started really not liking his character when he and Cordy did it. It was like him taking away something Angel really wanted.

But then I had to think about this because that would never have happened if Cordy wasn't evil. So I thought about it and decided that I didn't like this side of Conner because he just wouldn't open up to Angel.

He wouldn't even allow Angel to explain what had happened to him when he was a baby. That's what really got me not loving Conner.

However, in season 5 we meet Conner again. This Conner I absolutely loved! He was sweet, funny, and actually gave Angel a chance. I really wish that we saw more of this side of Conner than his evil side.

So I guess I would have to say that in the end I loved Conner.
