Diffrences between set house and real house

Ok so the last few times i've been buffy,ivbeen paying more attention to the sets ect, and i found some differnces betweens the house on set and the real house.

I also noticed at the back door, sometimes it opens from left to right and others right to left. Same with the front Door.
And at the back door out side on the left on the wall sometimes there is a window kinda thing and sometimes not.

Also we never see the room that is the otherside of the house opersit buffy's yes the bathroom but there should be another room abit small than buffys further along e.g the windows out side the house.

So my question is, why did they make these differnces? Wouldn't of been easier to keep everything the same, maybe the window thing like they made two small ones becuase one big one like the real house woudln't look so real. But the front door thing, it would of looked better keeping things the same.
 
I can't answer your question but respect! you had to look very closely to notice all these differneces.
 
Maybe a demon crashed through both the original door and and window and when replacing it they decided to make both the door mirrors and back windows smaller, cuz glass ain't cheep! lol
 
Actually, most of the doors and windows on that house did get smashed at some point or other. Often several times. If the two non-matching shots are not close together time-wise, that's probably the explanation.
 
Some of them were probably done for easier ways to shoot the house.

And in-show wise, as mentioned above, everything in that house got broken atleast once so Joyce/Buffy just opted to do something different.

But I thought all the house shots S4-7 were either stock shots or just set shots since they werent allowed to film in Torrence anymore after S3.

Why couldn't they film in Torrence anymore after S3?????
They ovsuly shot at the house still even tho that was in torrence as you see them out side it too much for it to me fake. x

I do get that things got broken, but its odd things i noticed like the windowg in the real house being big and in the set house being 2 small ones insted, And the differnce with the front door, side windows.

They weren't allowed to after Graduation Day because when they were shooting the scene where they blew up the Mayor Snake, it was so loud that car alarms went off and it woke a lot of people up. After that, I'm pretty sure they used a set house and some stock footage.

Yeah but in season 6 eps 1-2-3 buffy clearly walks out of the house in Torrence and you can see the whole street, and in flood Xander and Anya are both in the street outside the house and end of season 6 when buffy gets shot, the albilance takes her across the front lawn of the house. so they must of been allowed to shoot in that street. xx

yup they were banned from W3 because of the giant Mayor explosion at 5am, lost privileges in S4 and 5 but got it back when they switched networks for S6. In fact, most episodes in 6 and 7 feature the house, they went overboard!

Also has anyone ever noticed that the clock tower, itsnt really part of the real high school??? It's not really at the school. if you look at photos of Torrence high on google earth or google maps you can see its really not there.
 
The windows & doors have been destroyed so many times in the show, they probably just figured people wouldn't really notice or make anything of it.
 
They must of when you think about it, its nothing to do with them being broken in eps, but probs to do with, they couldn't 100% copy the design on the house as it would of been ripping off the arcutects design. Just thought of that.

And has anyone ever noticted the differnce between the real house door and the set door?
The Glass in the door in the real house has 3 peaces of class.
In the Set house door the 2 peaces of class its much fater and not as long.
