In Season Six when Buffy is brought back from Heaven she has to dig her way out of the coffin and soil leaving her hands bloodied yet whenever a Vampire digs their way out their hands are spotless.

I know Vampires heal with time but would they heal in a matter of minutes or however long it takes to break out of a coffin?

Two things, Buffy has strength and knows how to use it, but the vamps are stronger than her.

And we never really see close ups on their hands to really get a good look at them.

I think it was more down to dramatic effect than anything. To see Buffy with blood and mud on her hands was meant to show us the audience how traumatic the experience had been for her. Seeing it makes you think about it more especially as Buffy is the main character and its not something we see from her. As for the vampires, I think we're just used to seeing them claw out of their graves, plus in the early days some of them did have dodgy looking nails.

If the vampires' hands were spotless, it was probably just a continuity error - or blood just wouldn't have fit the mood of the scene.

After all, when Spike first saw Buffy's bloody hands in... Afterlife?... He said that he knew she dug her way out of a coffin because he'd done it himself, which heavily implies that his hands looked the same way.
