I thought Caleb really brightened up the show in season 7, as The First was too insubstantial to be a threat, or any fun for that matter. Nathan Fillion is great at playing a creepy charismatic bad guy. 😀

Nathan Fillion can D0 N0 WRONG in my book, he didn't disappoint. Caleb is truly a scary and brutal villian.

Buffy and C0. got their butts handed back to them.

Glad to see Faith back in the mix.

Agreed. Caleb is my all-time favorite Buffyverse villain after Glory.

I love that scene in the basement with Faith and Spike. When Buffy walks in she looks mighty jealous!

Haha, I saw Dr. Horrible before I saw Buffy, so all I thought of when I saw Caleb was Captain Hammer.

I hated his character with a fiery vengeance. He was probably one of the best villains ever on the show. I actually cheered when Buffy took the scythe and Caleb "split." LOL

I think it's a mark and a true example of just what an amazing actor Nathan is though. He was the villain you LOVED to HATE, thus it was perfection...and yummy too. He might have been true evil, but he made it look GOOD. LOL

He's definitely an amazing actor. As much as you hate Caleb, you love Mal. He is so enjoyable to watch no matter what kind of character he's playing, villain or hero, and probably lots of things in between.

Buffy absolutely infuriated me. I think she is so hyprocritical in the episode! She is so out of line to Faith, when you consider how Spike can do absolutely no wrong in Buffy's eyes and Faith has come to help.

They had to justify Buffy being displaced by Faith as the leader. For a couple episodes, Buffy had really been cracking under the pressure of leadership, and she doesn't get it together until almost the end of the series.

Very nice episode! Introduction of Caleb, a misogynist son of a... and Faith is back! I wonder where Faith found the strength to be such a kick ass after facing The Beast and Angelus but I guess that's what a Slayer really is. Never giving up!

I like the fact that Faith is so straightforward and even put aside the fact that noone warned her about The First's missionaries trying to kill her in prison. Buffy and Faith seem to be working out their differences, and I needed to hear Faith talk more about Angel but the Bringers interrupted them!

Poor Xander and Poor Buffy! Cause now she feels the responsibility of leadership. I really loved Xander's speech, it made me almost cry.Everything he said was true, and the Potentials needed to hear it. And also, about Rona talking foolishness: NO LADY!you're not in Sunnydale for protection!You are a potential, so you have responsibilities on your shoulder!God when are they gonna understand that!?

Add to that, practically the first thing that Faith does upon returning to Sunnydale is to try and make a move on Spike. Whether you call it jealousy, protectiveness, or just plain possessiveness, Buffy sees Spike at that time as HERS, and Faith as once more trying to take something of hers away.

Faith, just like Angel and Spike, will spend as much time trying to answer to someone for the evil that she did in the past, no matter how much good she manages to do in the future.

That may be so, but it doesn't make Buffy any less of a hypocrite, which is my point with that rant. Because it isn't just like Spike and Angel. Buffy manages to forgive them for all the misgivings but she won't cut Faith any slack even though she is just as forward as the other two when it comes to admitting her mistakes and atoning for them. Actually, she does more because unlike the other two she doesn't have the 'didn't have a soul' thing to fall back on. She, more than anyone, deserved Buffy's respect and help. But just like in season three, Buffy will not give her that.

And if Buffy's really going to be that pathetic and let her 'making a move' on Spike get in the way of that, then I'd dislike her even more than I already do for how she treated Faith. But maybe that's just a repeat of why she didn't help her in season three cos she thought she was making moves on Angel?

I have to say something. It might seem like Faith making a move with Spike, but once Buffy got into the basement, Faith's face got serious, I didn't see any effort to steal anything from anyone.

Faith might have felt bored with all those young girls in there and decided to talk to someone more interesting. And since Spike was also "reformed" like her, a second vamp with a soul she might wanted to speak with him. Faith doesn't do stuff like that anymore. Yes, in s3 she tried to steal Angel(and she failed doing it the classical way) but it only out of jealousy cause Buffy seemed to have everything. And in s4 she tried that with Riley but she is not that person anymore.

And I didn't like Buffy punching Faith when she first saw her in the cemetary. I don't know...it didn't seem right. Faith fought Spike only because she thought that he was another vamp threatening a girl.

I'd daresay that "Punch first, talk later" is definitely a character flaw of Buffy's, in general.

I think they just wanna make a scene because Faith and Buffy are well known by punching each other face. It's like they brought back old time. Plus, there's that "May I?" stake borrowing scene like in Faith's introducing scene in S3. 🙂

Yup. The monks really did great job. We've seen Angelus speaking to Dawn on the phone. Angelus in BtVS S2 might have done something bad to her too. And I'm sure Cordelia also know Dawn. 😉
