Disappointed at the end?

Am I the only one who was quite disappointed in the very end of the show? Not with the show itself, but with how it ended... I was expecting to see something after the final shot, before the end credits, saying something like "Thank you for a great 7 years." or something... anything. Anything to acknowledge it was the absolute final show, you know?

Maybe I was just stupid in expecting something like that...

What did annoy me was the way the WB did that at the end of Not Fade Away. Nothing like thanking everyone behind the making of Angel for five great years to really rub salt into the wound that they were the ones who stopped there from being a sixth! : po:

In the Chosen commentary Joss says "Thanks for watching my show." And it's very heartbreaking when he says it because of the finality.

Yea I was a bit disappointed the first time I watched the end but that had nothing to do with the not thanking or saying or goodbye or anything. I actually think the last final shot was pretty good as an end, well as the end I guess... (And I've started to like the ending more and more the last months.. So I'm not really disappointed at all anymore.. Well not really, at least..)

I wasn't expecting a 'thankyou for watching' but I thought there could have been something special. The Gift had that really cool montage to open the episode, Chosen didn't have anything special (to my memory). I would have liked to see it an hour long (ie 1 & 1/2 hours with ads). Maybe the title sequence could have been extra long, with the full version of the theme and twice as many clips for each character. I can't think of anything special for the ending credits...but there must have something they could have done.

And this looks like another chance to moan about Dawn getting the last line. That couldn't have been more wrong. She's quite new for one thing. Most people don't like her. Although Buffy would have been the obvious choice, I'd have given it to Xander to make up for his lack of importance in S7.

Actually I found Chosen a bit of an anti-climax. The whole episode was so good and i really enjoyed it but then all of a sudden it ended and I was like, is that it! I thought they might have done some flash backs over the last 7 years showing all buffy had done and seeing her at the end of chosen finally relinquished of all her slayer responsibility. I liked her standing on the edge of sunnydale but i think it could have done with a bit more to make people more sentimental. I mean episodes like the Gift where you think it is the end where so good. You cried and cried I think chosen should have been like this.

I really like chosen and always has. Of course I was very sad, especielly when I watched it the first time. But it was also so overwhelming.. I couldn't stop smiling behind all the tears when I saw Buffy smile. And I don't really think it matters who got to say the last line, for me it still feels like Buffy got the last say..

Yeah I agree, it was definitely a Buffy-goodbye. I couldn't smile at all though, I definitely cried.. And after seeing Chosen I felt all lost and weird for hours.. almost days (well, forever, in a way.. 'cause it was forever over..)..

I also don't mind that Dawn had the last line. It ending on Buffy finally being able to smile was enough for me. I had expected a different ending, but, ce'st la vie. Joss told the story he wanted to.

I thought it was a fantastic episode!

However, as a series finale, I found it very disappointing. As a season finale, it would be amazing, but for the end of the series I just expected, I dont know, just more.

If it was a two episode thing, they could have done more.

Again, I say, however, I dont know how else it could have been ended. there, wasnt much else to do. The whole thing couldnt be wrapped up because youre supposed to be left wondering whats next but it just seemed over kinda quick.
I was left thinking "is that it?" which has never happened with buffy before.

Joss Whedon said 'Thank you' in the commentary, but yeah, it would have been cool if the cast had done something.

I was most sad about Anya and Spike dying!! I was SOOOO depressed!! And, of coarse they are my most favorite characters, (other than Buffy) so I think that made it even worse. *sobs at the memory*
