Discussion of 1.02 "Putting Out Fires" - Airdate 11/6/03

Yea even though he was only on one episode..i still wasn't happy to see him go....but they had to show us that she can't save everyone.

I agree, I think it was important to show that she can't save everyone (or that not everyone who asks to be saved are asking to be saved themselves).

yea, that too...i'm glad they showed that early too..I didn't expect it to be like that...i thought the people asking for help would be asking for themselves....which will probably be the case most of the time....but him asking for help for someone else brought an intersting perspective to the show...even if it does only happen once.....however him doing that made me like him even more and made me even more sad to see him die.

I think what really made me sad about the episode was the scene at the end. I don't think it was necessarily him dying. If that makes any sense.

And yeah, it was a nice twist to things, having him ask for help to help someone else instead of asking for help for himself.

That scene at the end was very powerful and gave me hope for the show... I try not to get too attached to fox shows since "Firefly"...sob... I'm still hurting. I found this episode to be much stronger than the first and I do believe, now, that this series deserves a chance.

yea I know...this is a very good show...I just wish it was on a different network..because fox has a bad rep for cancelling shows...thats the only thing that makes me worry.

Egh...let's not talk about the "C" word, lol... :x

Let's hope Fox realizes what a good show this is and keeps it. *crosses fingers*

I know it's really, really late but I've just got round to catching up with TV shows and Tru 1x02 was next on my list! It was SO much better than the cheesy pilot. I loved every bit of this episode and it gave me such hope for the series.

I loved:

- The way Tru gradually puts things together in her head;
- The way her brother is slowly catching on;
- The way her new love was killed off - she's not going to have an easy life and, although it is upsetting, it does add some depth to the show;
- The ending - having Tru cry over him waiting for him to ask for help was just brilliant.

That's my £0.02, just thought I'd share it with you all!
