Discussion of 1.05 "Haunted" - Airdate 12/4/03

hmmm.....i'm not sure how we will find out....i do think we will find out though.....as for the bet about davis, i'm not sure how he knows, i'm not sure if it is supernatural or what.....i don't think he has the same gift as tru, but it would be good if he knew it would make things easier on tru...oh well but yea overall great episode.

This is the first post I see on these forums, so I have no idea if this has been discussed.

My guess is that heworked with Tru's mother, who may have had the same gift. Note that he already said once that the mortality rate was very low right until the year Tru's mother died...

yea thats what i was thinking....he probably knew Tru's mom...and when she got her mothers records, he even asked her if those were the answers she was looking for...i hope they continue next week where they left off....i want to know how and what he knows.

I like the theory that Tru's mother had the same gift....but it still doesn't explain why her mother would have explained anything to him. Plus, why wouldn't Tru's mother been able to prevent her own death, or at least change it so as not to give her daughter a guilt complex?

What if Tru's mother did have the same gift as Tru, and Tru was the person she had to save.. but she ended up dieing instead? Ever think of that?

ohhhhh good point!!! i had not thought about that..!!!

Will Keifer Sutherland be appearing in this episode 😀

Can't wait but running out of hard disk space *looks around for Lindsay, still waiting for the bloody CDs to do fer 'er* 😀

i don't know, i missed the scenes from next week on last weeks episode....i don't even know what this weeks episode is about.

Apparently its college kids messing around with death... ooo FLATLINERS 😀

Great movie that was but lets see why would a girl like tru want to save a bunch of shall we say, dodgey gets with nothing better to do with their time... 😀

I loved this episode!! I felt so bad for Tru when she had to relive the day and her mcats (or whatever it is) and even have to skip then when she knows she'll ace them. That must've been a really hard decision.
It seems like she sort of accepted that this was what she was meant to be doing, when she realised she'd have to wait a whole year to retake that test.
And I loved the ending! I'm so excited to find out more now!! How does Davis know? I think Jenzies theory is quite interesting and I also think that Davis must somehow have a connection to Trus mother or something like that.

yeah i felt bad for her too and you could tell she was upset when she realized it had all been a dream...!!! i was upset too....

yea i feel bad about her missing her mcats.....but it's not all bad because she belongs at that morge...this was already said i think , but i think she is starting to realize she belongs there...and i think she is kinda at peace with her decision to leave in the middle of that test..because she realizes she's where she belongs right now.

Tru missing her MCATS is a good thing. Because it means more morgue time, and most importantly, more fantabulous episodes.

Does anyone happen to know where I can download a full copy of Full Blown Rose's "Free me" (Tru Calling theme song)?

yea, if she would have gone to med school right now...she wouldn't be at the morge as much, soit's a good thing.....and no i can't find the song, somebody probably knows where you can get it.

I believe that Tru's medical career is just not to be. If she had aced the MCAT's (which she did the first time) she could have gone off to school in [wherever TC takes place - I'm guessing Boston] and worked in the morgue at night.

However, we can see how Tru's gift can interfere with her original plan for the day, no matter how important [MCATs], so she would probably miss a lot of classes at school trying to save people. In Medical School missing classes means falling behind and almost certainly flunking out. Therefore, Tru Davies MD just isn't gonna happen, IMHO.

yup...it would seem so....but even though she likes the doctor stuff and she was good at it....i think she might not mind because she might end up loving this job even more....cuz she can still feel like she is making a difference.
