If the Ratings hold...this will be the highest ratings for Tru yet. The highest final ratings were a 3.5

My guess is that some people from Survivor chose Tru over reruns, and Basketball.

For those that are interested. Wonderfalls got an overnight rating of 4.1 rating / 6 Share at 9pm. So the people that watched Tru...stayed to watch Wonderfalls.
 
I watched Wonderfalls and sat through the whole ep and it is actually pretty good 🙂

Of Course Tru Calling was absolutely wonderful 🙂

I am glad that she finally knows now
 
Clare Kramer was fantastic. Eliza was fantastic.

BUT.... another review said that this episode was the epitome of what's wrong with Tru Calling. I agree. Maybe it's just not a show for me. Maybe I'm just too analytical. But the writing is just careless. There's no thought, no logic. Yes, we have to believe that Tru can go back in time and save people. But this episode was so sloppy.

The last scene with Tru and Davis was so poorly written. I wanted to love that moment. But the way it was presented just left me fuming angry.
 
i agree... i mean i didn't like when Davis said "it was your mother" i wanted more but it was a good episode.
 
AWWWWWWW MANNNNNNNN!!!!!!!...

I thought it was NEXT week it was supposed to start back up again... can't believe I missed an episode! 🙁 *cries*
 
i thought it was good but the whole thing of "it was your mother" thing was the biggest "DUH!" moment of the season
 
I like Tru, it's fun, and this ep was pretty cool, it's nice that they do manage to find ways to keep things different, the deaths and such I mean.

Although one thing my mother and I have noticed is Tru lacks any common sence subtly. I mean, she is always just blurting out this or running off stages, when if she were smart, she'd be more subtle about it, especially since she ought to be getting more used to the concepts by now.


But overall I really enjoy the show, and liked this episode... the reporter gal looks like she could be trouble coming.
 
Yeh, the repoter woman is kinda the ineviteble. I mean think about it It's about time someone kinda caught wind of Tru always being around major crime sceans kinda mysteriously. It definantly will be trouble along the way.
 
I guess that is the point I mean if you liked her then I don't she would have been doing a good job. I you hated her then the actress did a great job protraying the character.

I for one wanted to throttle her and throw her in the river and have her ask Tru for help then maybe she wouldn't be so quick to judge her
 
This kind of felt like a slide for the show, the episodes before now had been getting better each time--but this one was too straight forward (even taking the twist into account). However I think its nessicary to address some of the comments I'm seeing in this thread.

First, in regard to the show being written careless--I flat out disagree. The revelation about her mother has been set up since nearly the first episode, and built up from there. I'll admit that when Davis first figured out that Tru could do what she could do I thought it was slipshod writing. But now that I know that he knew Tru's mother it makes a lot of sense (yeah, maybe I should have seen it coming). Other little touches that I think go against your point involve the way Tru's changes affect the people around her. Yeah, sometimes things go like she thinks they will when she tries to help her faimly--but other times they go the oppisite. The way the plots are put together is also impressive. Considering that the show could be nothing more than a lame crime show I've been impressed with the way the writers have played with the stories (things like not having her save the person she was supposed to, or even ending up not being able to save them). But even more impressive they've actually imbued the show with a theme and issues about fate and playing God that I have to say are downright interesting and full of excellent conflict for the character of Tru.

My other comment was on the person who said that Tru's character lacks any amount of tact. Yeah, I've noticed since the first episode(although she has gotten somewhat better). It would bother me, but they have been downright consistent about it. It really is just who she is (and is further reflected in her personal relationships, which tells me that it isn't just a plot device that pops in and out of existence).

Anyway as for this week's episode I felt we got some good stuff(mostly in those last minutes of the show). But for the most part there were little things that just didn't work(the show in general may not be careless, but this ep was). Things like the timeline not working out to be the same the second time around bothered me as I was watching. The main characters were as good as always, but the side characters lacked interest for me.

But then you get the moment at the end that makes it all work(for me at least). I'd never actually reliazed before now that Tru's mom had the same thing (yeah, it was built up since the first ep--I see that now--but just never really got it until this moment). The other good thing in the episode was, as others have already said, the reporter--we should see interesting things from this.

Also, since I'm writing this after seeing "Daddy's Girl" I can say with confidence that the show will be going back to its previous increase in quality.
