Discussion of 1.16 "Two Pair" (FOX-US) - Airing 4/8/04

Can't wait

The preview from last week kind of hinted that it didn't rewind because Jack was in the room. But I like the second person reason better. Sounds interesting.

I predict that Jack will be revealed to be an angel.

It's pretty obvious that time doesn't rewind for him. He remembers everything just like Tru. But he also seems to have additional knowledge outside of his actions from the previous day. Yeah, scoring the job the second time was easy, but he also knew the winning horses. It was almost like he KNEW the day would repeat, so he could be an ass and drink Tru's soda.

He also sent that reporter back to the restaurant knowing she would be okay.

Look at his last name HARPer
Need I say more?

This show is getting better and better. The first several episodes were so repetitive: "The evidence points to this suspect so... it MUST be someone else!" Now we're expanding into some new ideas.

Okay now I officially hate Jack, he killed that girl! How could he?! His character needs to die lol

OMG OMG OMG!! I can't believe Jack did that. I was about to cry. They need to find out what he did and kill him. I can't believe he killed that girl...and how upset Harrison was. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG I can't believe he did that!!!! What is up with this Jack Character. He Is Like an anti Tru...ugh! :whatever:
Next weeks Looks SOOO good. I wish we didn't have to wait a week!

hmmm... maybe the girl was asking for help but NOT for her really??...

because maybe she knew that because SHE won the money the first time that HE ended up killing himself...
and she didn't want that to happen, so she wanted Tru to switch things up so that HE would win the money (and maybe he would be able to fight off the bad guy that killed HER the first time??...

cuz then Tru couldn't go back until she knew WHY the girl asked for help, and that wasn't revealed until the GUY came in and ALSO asked for help..
THEN she had enough info to piece it all together later..
just a thought...

but they DID question how did the parents know about her owing money the SECOND time... and Jack ran off pretty quick there for a while and had been doing lots of "snooping" into like Davis' life and stuff..

the ONLY ones that knew were Davis, Tru and Harrison, but we know none of THEM told... and what was w/ Jack stroking the dead girl's forhead before putting her away in the box??... how is telling them and having her THINK she wanted to commit suicide a "GOOD" thing he's doing?.. it's NOT.. bad guy : electric

he ALREADY died before, remember? : scratch

When he first showed up he said something about the dead needing help too. He is either a bad guy or he has a good reason for what he did. Someone is feeding him information, and I don't think it is anyone on the earthly plane.

Hi all! I'm new to Tru - but I've been enjoying the last month since Angel's been on hiatus. But I missed tonight's episode - and from all the comments - I missed a goodie.

Jack is actually adding a good turn in the story. I really think he is evil. He knows everything that happens and did you ever notice how he tried to stop Tru in small ways. Like delaying her in the hall. The last scene was very creepy!

tru should have known that there was something up. Do you think they would reveal or even know that someone called her parents about the money? How would he have known?

I could not believe Davis (or whatever is first name is. :rotflmao: ) was married and that Tru's mom saved him. I think Davis will have some huge secret that he doesn't even know about. (Quote from the show: "You know all that i know." -Davis)

I can't wait for next week's show!!! : cheesy :

Copy cat?

do I smell a "Quantum Leap" Evil Leaper rip off comming? While it may not be exact, there was a lot of talk of mirror images, and Jack seems to be the cause of a death.

She sees people who have died before their time, does Jack think when a person's time is up, they are supposed to die, and you shouldnt play with fate? Does he repeat the same days she does? Did he miss saving the boy he talked about losing his first episode bacause he repeated that day and still lost the kid the second time around? Could that have been a sign to him it was the kids time no matter what because he was shot and died saving the kid, while he lived because it wasn't his time? Methinks it is possible.

Maybe Jack thinks you should not mess with fate, mixed with a bit of bitterness makes him try and stop Tru in what she does. It is possible when she rewinds, he is dragged back with her. Notice, they had their conversation about her knowing nothing about Davis real life. This was brought on by the unpacking.

After the rewind, he brings it up again, but the unpacking didn't happen this time.

If Jack repeats the same days, as a Dr. he may have some idea of the deaths in the city. Then, if he rewinds the same days with Tru, he would see who is alive the second time around. With that it wouldn't be long before he makes the connection that Tru seems to show up around these people in arreest reporsts, and in the news, just like the reproter noticed. That would explain why he came to the morgue if he was the Anti-Tru. Kind of like Clark Kent working for the newspaper, stay close to where the sources are.

But how do we know he wasn't trying to send the reporter to her original fate?

Yeah that's what I was thinking, he sent the reporter there because he knew that's where she died. I agree, I think Jack believes when it's your time to go you shouldn't alter fate. Maybe he actually thinks he did the right thing by letting the girl kill herself, but poor Harrison!! He's such a sweetheart and I felt so bad after he thought he saved her, and then found out what happened. I hope he doesn't give up, I'd love to see him help Tru on more of her cases.

I wonder if Jack is Death? He could just be there to reclaim some of the lives that Tru was supposed to save. I thought that he was a demon at first but then I thought about it again after the show went off. It would make more sense if he was death. That's my idea.

Creepy

This episode was waaay intense> This show ROCKS! I do NOT like Jack. At all!! He is creepy. What was up with that part where he started stroking the girls' hair and what is up with him sabatoging Tru/Harrison and Davis's case? He did something, I know. Someone mentioned he was an Angel. I think he is a bad angel. Or a fallen angel of baddness. He hopefully will get figured out soon. But it show how caring Harrison is, how sweet of him,I like Harrison!!

I think jack is death as well. It is like the Endless 🙂

I think that Jack will add a lot more to the show...I hate him!....but he will add more to the show. It will add more of a dark side where before it had a goody goodyness too it.
I love this show and have followed it from day one!

Someone help me here ...

I accidentally forgot to set my VCR to tape this week's episode, Two Pair. It looked really good, and it sounds even better after reading some of your comments.

Can someone give me a link to a site that SUMMARIZES the episode? ... the more details the better

Or can perhaps one of you fellow Tru Calling fans (who remember the episode well) describe what happened as best you can?

Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

one of my favorite parts of the episode was when Tru was talking to Harrison on the cell..

it went like:

Harrison: I was TRYING to be 'myself'...
Tru: so then you hit on her...
Harrison: no!, well, ok YEAH!...
Tru: then be your OTHER 'self'...
Harrison: *thinks*... oh, right, LIE!

: rotflmao

Thought you should know

I was looking online to see if I couldn't find out more about Jack and I came upon a article about Jason Priestly talking about Jack. Heres what he said.

"Jack's an interesting guy," he says. "He's very charming, very affable, very likeable. But you know, Jack has an agenda. There's a reason Jack showed up in the morgue. Suffice it to say, there's a reason, and that reason will become clear in the next few weeks.

"But he's not evil. There's no evil."

So I guess the question is if he's death, is death not evil then? Thought you guys might want to know.

has anyone seen that movie meet joe black? (not the best movie) but the concept, the guy died for a minute and "death" took over his body it wasn't the same guy anymore, maybe thats the same thing thats happening here maybe when jack died something happened to him. and i also agree that he is the anti tru after seeing this episode.
